So beautiful, so calm, and so enjoyable. Thank you Kriksis, I really needed that today. Your work is beautiful - I loved the night painting with the fox and the house! I wanted to let you know that you've inspired me to not only get my pastels out again but also to add to my colour palette with a few extra ones from Jackson's. I'm excited to try to use them in my work. Thank you!

Only reading you comment just now, thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate them! I saw your video being recommended about Choosing keeping and I can see the pastels in thumbnail, exited to watch it later today! Hope they will be great addition to your collection and will work hand in hand with other mediums! :))

My fave emoji is 🐌 because I eventually get to my goals but it takes a while. I really love your work on that 2 page spread! It is so poignant that it doesn't need words or text. Just a very beautiful, still moment in time. ❤

Congratulations on your American book! I look forward to your new one about the little girl and the fox, and love your character sketches for it and the night scene. I also very much enjoy watching you experiment with the soft pastels. The effect with the acrylic medium was revelatory!

Unison pastels are gorgeous; you need a toothy pastel paper to grab the pastel. Smooth paper is not the best surface when working with pastels. They blend beautifully on pastel paper. I like to think of pastels as creating a surface like velvet. A light thouch and not overworking pastels will bring you joy.💕

I would love to see you working in pastels on a good pastel surface that would hold the pigment. Very little dust then and what there is you can use your fingers to consolidate. I love how you are using them creatively anyway but think you would be blown away by the results on a good surface. Then a good fixative makes them very lasting. I have 25 year old pieces that look fresh as the day they were finished. You have chosen such lovely colour combinations. Well done for your publication, it is beautiful. And thanks for sharing your processes.

It's so exciting! You published a wonderful book. That should be celebrate! You stuffed this in the middle of your (nevertheless wonderful) video, but your book deserves an extra space. Perhaps you can show more....with the one or the other original sketch?! Have fun in Latvia...!

How wonderful to see your book published. It looks wonderful and deserves a video all of its own because it is very special. Your exploration of pastels has been fascinating. I have bought some of Jackson’s own brand and need to swatch them. I bought the set of earthy greens. I am so influenced by you and Natasha Newton. Thank you for being an inspirational enabler.

I wonder if matte medium would Leave more Of a Texture you May like more than the gloss medium. I like you fox story. I had a fox experience one winter at my grandmother’s house. I was outside in the snow in the bank by the house when I turned and there was a fox only a few feet from me. It was the most beautiful red fox. We both just froze and looked at each other for several seconds and then he turned and ran away.

Make sure those soft pastel don't have oil, because then you have paint them on top of acrylic and not acrylic mix with or on top of oil , because with time they will separate . Those color you but are very nice. I also like your illustrations you made, very nice too

Hi. I would like to learn how to sketch light and shadow. Yesterday I sketched flashlights so now I would like to include the light and shadow effect. What is the best way to do this? I completed a lamp/flashlight sketching that included yellow markers as the light for all of the lamps. Would you like to see it?
