Well he didn't try the best sounding algorithm unfortunately, which is Interweave. The algorithms vary wildly. This was the case in Morph 2 as well. Those were some crazy combinations as well. I get the best results by combining somewhat sonically related sounds - like a bass line and a drone like pad for example.

Not even close, but there’s a definite learning curve when it comes to choosing your sources. It takes a lot of trial and error to figure out what works, but when it does work the results are beyond anything you could achieve otherwise. I tend to dedicate time to rigging up sets of sounds that work and saving those as standalone files that I can port into my projects to use like synth presets (which I can then play in real-time or render them into sets of samples). There are immense possibilities when it comes to creating hybrid sounds with this plugin. One thing a lot of people do wrong is that they try morphing sounds that are far too disparate, like trying to combine a drum loop with a tonal line, which will almost always result in something that just sounds like a vocoded drum loop. It usually works better when there’s a degree of similarity between your two sources. For instance, you can take an upright piano and combine it with a Rhodes to get a unique combination of the two. There are also some interesting mixing possibilities. Say you want to inject some vinyl noise into a mix but you’re having trouble getting it to sit right. You can morph noise into your main tonal line and it’ll sit right in the mix without nearly as much effort. You can even use it to add/subtract certain frequencies in your instruments by morphing them with other instruments that possess your desired qualities. The possibilities are endless. This plugin has been used on some very highly regarded projects, such as Mick Gordon’s DOOM soundtracks, multiple hit songs produced by Zedd/Grey, and some of Brian Eno’s latest works.
