My husband and I have been nomadic for five years. For three years we bopped around Europe and it was amazing. 18 countries! We're back in the states because of family stuff and we're miserable. We are discussing where we'll settle in the future. I've traveled abroad since I was a teen, but when I actually lived in places for three to 15 months and became part of community in other countries, it changed everything. We lived in Albania for a year and I remember I was at the fish shop down the street and decided I wanted to add a bottle of wine to my order. I was going to walk back up the hill to get more money and the owner was like, "Why are you doing that? Just pay me the next time you're over here." I was literally confused. He said, "You're my neighbor. I know you." That was it. We had so many experiences like that in Europe, it was crazy. Leaving my bike outside of the grocery store for hours unchained in Finland. Not a soul bothered it. Getting on the bus with the wrong ticket and being told I could ride for free because the driver didn't want me to miss my flight. Just the we were treated was night and day to the US. I can't wait to leave again.

Thanks for sharing. When I lived in Korea, it was the same. It was so safe. You could leave your laptop in the cafe and not stress about going to the bathroom or going to the shop down the street to pick up something, because you know no one will touch it. People would leave or lose bags, wallets on the subway, and they would be returned to them.

Don’t leave until you have a solid plan for how you’ll support yourself in old age. The greatest change I have experienced thus far is the community I gained. Everything that I may have stressed about in the US I haven’t had to worry about now. The one paycheck comment got to me. I have been thinking about managing my life. I recently had a surgery for a second time. My oldest daughter was able to help me. But I had to rush back to work because I couldn’t pay my bills. I also have a family trip coming up. And my aunt who is coordinating the trip was asking me during my medical leave, when I was going to pay for this family vacation? I feel like I am the only one struggling. I also felt like I was going to become homeless. My current job is the only job I had that would allow me the time off and some pay. Besides my daughters I know i don’t have a community. And I fear my daughter don’t have a community besides each other.

Consider housesitting to get some some travel at a lower cost because the accommodations are taken care of and since you’re usually in a house or apartment, you can cook a lot of your food. I am at the humblest grassroots of the concept of living outside of the US; that for decades strongly desired to leave a country that never feasibly served me. It's more strongly intuitive now. I pray that I am on the right path. I'm grateful to have stumbled across this page!

It's about 18 months down the road, which should give me enough time to do all the math, $ave more, and plan my exit strategy. I strongly believe the outcome of the Nov US election will factor into whether & how many people leave the US.

I live in America and live by those same rules. This was the best information given to black women please continue to encourage that it’s not taboo to put yourself first start life-ing your way not societies way. Very good information. My scary ass has to get over my fear to travel to even find where I would want to relocate to. You guys are so inspiring I have always had a mindset that I will not be slaving and miserable on any job, these job are toxic as hell the jealousy is running rampant I’m also a therapist so I get burned out quick working around so many low vibrational energies. I now work for my self feeling like I live in a bubble because I avoid people especially low vibrational people. I surround myself with positive energy and people only. This was a great topic it has really encouraged me to consider taking a 90 day stay somewhere. Thank you both.

I can’t wait to live back abroad! I lived in China and South Korea. I loved my life abroad, and the opportunities I had to travel to SE Asia. I met so many different people and was more relaxed. I am back in the US now, since 2020, and I can say I never really acclimated back into US culture. Everyone here just works works works. Not many people want to just relax and enjoy this beautiful life God has given us. And I understand, because America is quite competitive. There is a complete lack of community here. Neighbors don’t even know you. Everything thing in the US is so expensive. Why is it so expensive just to live? I like to be in a place where people are able to relax after work, go to the night market for some laid back food, maybe a beer, and just enjoy each other’s company. I can’t get that in the small town I’m in in the US (I know bigger cities may offer more of what I’m looking for).

I need help leaving economically without being followed socially and technologically. Thankful for your channel. I was brought to the United States by my mother at age two. I never had a choice to chose a country. My Haitian family members did. They stated the United states was better than Haiti. But all of them are starting life from 0$ and I am starting off with 67,000+ unsubsidized interest and low paying job positions in the same county I went elementary, middle, college in. I am dealing with my resentment of being cast away economically and I am trying to do what you guys did. Pay them their money back and chose a better social/economic community.
@brownsugarbayb
@brownsugarbayb 6 ай бұрын
To remove the resentment, try to look at it as they tried to do what they thought was best for you (and it technically was). They gave you a life of options you wouldn't have if you stayed in Haiti. It's unfortunate you have debt but you're privileged to be able to earn money in a currency that can get you far in many other countries. You can go somewhere with a low COL work online and be able to pay down your debt plus there's other ways to pay it down. Lots of great resources on KZbin on how to lower debt. Stay positive cause the life these ladies preach is within your means. Get a pen and paper and start creating a plan. You got this!

You ladies are absolutely beautiful ! I have been suffering recently. I started going to church and therapy recently and that has allowed me to me to see many things about myself , my mental health, and my happiness. I’m working as a nurse in Atlanta and I have been depressed for years . Literal spiritual warfare . I have a home okay? And everyone says what you said people make it seem like “you made it.” I’m grateful but I’m still unhappy because I’m stuck in a crowded rate race being forced to work to pay for my home . I’m in mounds of debt . Dating in Atlanta is a different story and I have been praying for God to set me free . Set me free physically , emotionally, spiritually. Living in the US is a very miserable place and I am so glad I have my family at least. I can’t afford health insurance and neither can my mom and that breaks my heart , I had to go to the urgent care and choose between services and medications for my health issues . & There is so much pressure here especially where I live and I feel so stuck . I been researching places to live outside the United States and I am so glad I found this community. I pray one day I can own property and live outside the United States . Please pray for me .

It is interesting to come across this. I hope this teaches those who are mean to others when they hear them speak with a different accent than them to give respect to other people. You know what, each person have their own reason why they are where they’re respect their presence and respect them. I am intrigued about this and to hear these women talk and I respect their move but for those people who dislike others based on where they come from I hope this makes them widen their minds.
