Chris, how are brokerage accnts w schwab,fidelity managed and protected when using offshore? use an llc or trust w the brokerage?
@GlobalBankscom20 күн бұрын
It depends on the broker and where the account is domiciled. For example, US brokerage accounts are protected on the customer level by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Certain brokers have additional coverage, which typically offers significantly higher coverage on the account level. That said, each broker is different, and you should check their specific coverages before opening.

@@GlobalBankscom Thanks for the video. There are so many restrictions for Americans who don’t even travel to USA anymore for a decade like me. The compliance managers tell me please bring a non US passport to me to make our team happy. I told them I report my accounts to IRS anyways as I don’t have millions to hide my account but this has become a compliance nightmare for the banks to deal as you can understand. Some of the investment firms are also off limits to Americans living overseas for decades.
