Good video. I guess one of the major considerations needs to be the long-term trajectory of the local currency against GBP. The CHF does well on that score. But interesting to learn that I could open GBP-denominated accounts in places like Poland. I'll compliment you on your presentational technique.

Any bank worth dealing with (from a security, safety, and service perspective) will need Americans to provide SSN. And they will report via FATCA. What about long term investment banking, if I don't feel safe holding all of my money on local banks? Largers sums than you mentioned.
@GlobalBankscom3 ай бұрын
When it comes to investments, there are a lot of considerations (citizenship, residency, holding structure, goals, etc). You also need to decide if you want to self-manage or use a professional (e.g. asset manager/private bank). And a big question people overlook is what other benefits they want from that relationship... because private banking isn't JUST about investing, it's also about tax optimization, creative financing, advisory, and much more. We'll be doing a video on this topic soon (choosing if Private Banking is right for you) so make sure you're subscribed if that's of interest!

Doesn't the US have inheritance tax for over $60K for non citizens/residents?
@GlobalBankscom3 ай бұрын
Do you mean US estate tax? Foreign non-residents are subject to estate tax but only on US situs assets. For estate tax purposes, US situs assets include U.S. real property, tangible property located within the US and stock in US corporations. Cash in a US bank account is not considered a US situs asset for estate tax purposes. But as with anything, always check with a qualified advisor familiar with your particular situation before making any decisions.
