My favourite part about the using the flamethrower is when my teammates go 'hell yeah' or 'get em!' or 'oooohh' or 'buuurrrn!'

Here are my flamethrower thoughts. Still needs some buffs, but it's okay. I can use it quite well. In the right kind of map, say PHL night, in Foy town etc, I can get a good average 20 flame kills per game. Not too bad, but not great. It's has some existing niche uses and some more that could be added wit some buffs, soo... 1. Get rid of the brace. Let it hip fire and aim fire. The brace makes sense for mgs as they are great medium to long range and brace is a close combat nurf which mgs need. To nurf a weapon close combat that is only for close combat is a bad decision. 2. When actually firing keep the slower walk speed as now. Otherwise would be OP 3. When actually firing keep a nurfed turn speed, otherwise we are going to have fast 360 flame spins which would be OP. However speed it up some as it's too slow right now. Maybe with no brace current speed would be okay. 4. Increase the range a bit. It's currently 23m. Something between 25 - 30m would be better. 5. Have a bit of a wider area of affect and a bit of a longer burn time. 6. Up the amount of damage it does to jeeps / trucks so you can kill 2 per tank. Leave halftracks as it is. With that done I think it would be a great weapon. Far more use cases. Less frustrating to use. The 7th point would be the dream. 7. Have the fuel by liquid with basic physics, think the gun in portal 2. This would do 2 things. Firstly allow you to hit targets behind cover, including by archive over say hedge rows. Secondly it would mean when shooting down from height you would get more range due to gravity. Though this would need a burn out time. At current the flamethrower is good for; - Garrison hunting and killing. Not as good as rockets, but better than most weapons. - Protecting friendly garrisons. Nothing is as affective. Place the garrison in a wheat field and it's even better - Clearing wheat fields. Again no equal - Clearing garrison spawn waves. No equal other than satchels / tank. - Holding enclosed spaces eg bunkers, houses. Could be a bit better here, but it's already solid. - Ambushing truck drivers at close range. You just can't miss. - Some mild area denial - Clearing trenches, ditches. Think PHL and Kursk - Any night map makes it more useful as it's easier to get close - Fun kills and moments. With the buffs suggested there more be far more map areas where it can be use for defence, due to a bit more range. On attack once in close it will be less frustrating due to no brace, faster turn and a bit more range. With liquid fuel it would add an entirely new niche for it, that currently grenades fulfill but not as well as the flamethrower could, of killing enemy behind cover. So a good start, but needs work. All of that said, I would settle for no brace time and a faster whilst firing turn speed. That would already make it an acceptably good weapon.

Whenever i watch someone on youtube play HLL it seems like the enemies are braindead and always looking the other way but whenever i play, no matter how careful and sneaky i am they always immediately insta kill me when i'm anywhere near them lol.

I had 30 kills in one game last night with the flame thrower on Stalingrad (playing as the germans since the Russians don't get flame throwers unless you're counting the term flame thrower to the literal point with the Molotov

I think it should be both, like the fire hits an area and starts to spread. It should be good for clearing bunkers, but it is actually quite ineffective at that.

@@commandercrane1945 That's exactly what I was thinking. It should start out as high dps fire where it directly hits, then spread out some with less dps, and then spread out some more with less dps. Should shine for flushing people out of houses, bunkers, trenches, hedges, corn fields, etc.

Could you imagine torching a wheat field that a bunch of enemies are hiding in lol. If they did something like that, the speed that it spreads should depend on what is burning. Like a wooden structure would spread much slower than a wheat field or bushes.

Absolutely love it but could be way better, I play on console so a lot of people don’t know what there doing = easier roasting with flamethrower. But back to point it needs to have more range, I find a start roasting and the flame is just like 1 meter to short causing me to get shot instantly. Second, get rid of that hip fire brace stuff it’s a close quarters weapon so why does it act like an mg, I totally get the hip fire thing for mgs. Third, the travel time of the flame seems off, like you need a good 2 seconds for that flame to kill your target and 99% of engagements end with you just starting to fire then dying. They need to make it like as soon as the flame graphics hit you, you die

to add to the effect of the flamethrower, I wish you would loose control of your guy and he will run randomly 1 meter then die and scream, make it just like the movies. Hopefully that wasnt tore up mental image lol.

I agree they should have some animations for when you burn enemies with flamethrowers or Molotovs it would add to the cinematics of the game and be a bit cooler as well.

You still trade usually if you go head-to-head with someone. However, no one can turn and shoot you while burning anymore.

It's probably for the best. If a new player tried running around using this thing, they would just be endlessly frustrated haha. What is not shown is all the hoops and sneaking I had to do to get in these positions to do this damage. I really have to go out of my way to burn someone than to just shoot them. The flamethrower is unmatched at taking out large groups of enemies up close, but getting close enough is nearly impossible unless you are very sneaky.

There's a xp farming server called Bob the builder and yes, its legal. I was support lvl 3 and in 3 hours i reached support lvl 9 :D you should try it out

@@richard70854 if u want to lvl support, equip the role and all u have to do is build for 30 minutes or 1 hour. There's some engineers that are going to guide you if you are new, so don't worry. Join it and you will see. BTW! DO NOT kill anyone in that server because you will get banned.

When it was first released, you had to slowly roast someone to kill them. Meanwhile they could easily shoot you. After the buff, it became an instakill.

yeah but if your ratio is still like 1 kill 20 deaths with that weapon (with bonuses like visible "HERE I AM" for entire enemy team, slow fire, short range, not instakilling anything), wouldnt any assault rifle do the same job but faster and more reliable way, if all exciting happens inside this pathetic 20m radius.

Yeah, I have not used the flamethrower since I made this video. The only practical and unique use for it is to burn garrisons in the backline, that have a long takedown time. But running to the backline with a flamethrower instead of a bazooka (for enemy vehicles) isn't the best.
