There's multiple legit martial arts in DOA games, they're real and work in an actual fight. The boy called Elliott in DOA5 I think does Hsing I kung fu, which I used to do myself when I was younger and his moves in game are pretty accurate to the style.

Nate Green I feel like we can get more of these specialist looking at specific video game videos. And I would also like to see veterans looking at shooter games. But the real critic of this video should be that the fighting game they chose to present isn’t a good fighting game. It’s a heavily stylized fighting game based on some over the top anime characters who can summon monsters or stretch for miles. It’s not the same experience as a martial artist looking at fighting styles in a specific game or as you described special forces members examining techniques in a war simulation.

Technically, the air teleport is actually in line with physics. If you could move your legs fast enough, you could actually move in mid air by literally kicking the air. It would require your moving your leg at supersonic speeds, but technically, theoretically possible. Also, if your looking for actual martial arts technique, watch Kengan Ashura. Sure, every fighter is insanely superhuman, but it's the only series I've seen that actually portrays ground fighting and grappling.

Just a theory, but I think the hadouken/kamehameha comes from two places. 1. Swordsmanship. "Iaijutsu" I think it's called, drawing the sword and killing the enemy as a single move. The stance is similar to the preparation from both anime moves. Both hands at the side with at least one flying foward. Only instead of a blade its a fieball. 2. I'll be honest. I was watching a movie while typing this and forgot what #2 was. I don't remember where I was going with this at all.

They really should've reacted to the taijutsu in Naruto, because it has more fluid complex movements. The showing of Kakashi vs Obiti, Kakashi vs Hidan, Naruto vs Sasuke in part 1 at the valley of the end, Neji vs pretty much anybody, Rock Lee vs Gaara. All of those fights have more detail, fluidity, and complexity to their movements and I'd love to see an expert's take on the way they fight.

If Kengan Asura's anime were better it would've been perfect for this. Gemma's got a point that a lot of shonen fights can tend to boil down to who throws the best haymaker into a face or fires the strongest laser. Since these videos are so short, I think the short two minute fight Tanjiro and Inosuke have against each other in Demon Slayer would be perfect for this.

Other then Goku and a few of the other characters are the ones from Fist of the North Star and some others? They do have a fighting style since they are martial artist. While characters like Luffy don't. Since most of his move sets are base on his powers.
