What Kirill said in the end makes alot of sense. Alot of Americans watching will think they understand, but do not truly understand. America wants to strip develop purely for the convenience of the consumer, taking in no regard for anything beyond that fact, which in the end comes to money. Even Russia has enough sense to say, do not blindly build parking lots to appease the frivolous needs of the consumer. Make steps to work around the structure already defined, incorporate it into your lifestyle, do not force the world to conform to your petty needs. This message, which is what is the underlying factor in this movement, makes alot of sense, and would cause the world to look, feel and function at a much better pace. Think about it and maybe you can make a change in your environment as well.
@TugaAvenger5 жыл бұрын
I think it's far more practical than that - old cities centers were built centuries before the car was invented. Even if there were such a willingness, it's simply physically impossible to open roads or parking lots. America has the benefit of age and land. The cities are far more modern and can expand with almost no constraints.
@Onio_Saiyan5 жыл бұрын
We have quite a bit of space to expand so parking lots can be built with any new structure if there's space. I live in Saint Louis, and that's what I've observed. Might be different in other places in the US though. Saint Louis hasn't really done much expansion since the early nineties or late eighties.
@henningtungqvist54344 жыл бұрын
The thing is, the sidewalks in Russia are very wide, and this is because they were built during the communist period of the Soviet Union, when almost nobody had a car, and millions of workers walked to work. Over time things change. Now, half of Moscow owns a car. Thus you can see the problem.

Like in every country, my friend, the problem is not old Russia and new Russia, old cars and new cars. The problem is the giant difference between rich and poors. Only 'poors' driving expensive cars are the fking gypsies, because they stole them OR they stole money to buy them.😂

@MrTarmonbarry3 жыл бұрын
The parking problem that Kiril refers to is very real . When the areas he talked about were built you had to apply for a car , then save for a car , then maybe 5 years later you just might get one but only if you knew the right people or had a high up position. The apartment houses and infrastructure were set up for people to use public transport which as good back then . Adequate parking was never considered because very few could afford a car . In Ukraine its the same , lots of apartment houses surrounded by small parks ans play areas for the kids but the parking is very limited . The city council in Kharkiv supply most of the public transport and its very good and cheap , in a lot of ways its better to go to the city center that way rather than drive a car and have the hassle of finding a place to park, and if you do find a place you will still have a walk . I was in Warsaw recently , much more affluent than Kharkiv so lots more cars , and the car rules , the green areas are used for parking and every inch is is given over to the car . Its great for the city council because its all pay for it parking
