One strategy I use when they start acting out negatively I say, " it is totally ok to be frustrated, but you do not get to take it out on me or brothers by (whatever they are doing)". It has had some good success.

I just started this adhd journey with my 9 year old. Lately he has been “defiant” at school. He isn’t doing his assignments and refusing. He does have a 504 in place but they have also had 3 different subs since school started. Do you have any advice on how I can help him during school during his assignment time? Thank you
