Airless pump bottles are brilliant such a slim profile. Also the slim pouches. Soaking reusable pads or even face wipes with cleanser & Toner is genius. Always do a trial, fill your travel containers and see how many days they last. In your hanging toiletries bag separate morning, evening & miscellaneous into different compartments, also always carry a carabiner hook in case there isn't one on the bathroom door, LOVE your vlogs ❤

I love this video; it is like a travel survival guide. In Boyscouts we have a motto: Be Prepared. That's what your advice does. I especially like the suggestion to put items you use throughout the day aside. Very practical.

I have pouches for soap and other bars that have a hook for hanging up and allow soap bars to dry while in the pouch but prevent any leaks. Cheap and nice for not having leaks or soap getting sloppy and gelatinous. Crystal solid deodorant last almost forever, doesn't count as a liquid, is smaller than most solids and leaves no residue. Those are my size and weight savings tips

Great video, after a trip I replenish my liquids as a post trip activity, only takes a few minutes so I am ready for the next trip or a surprise trip. Contact lens containers are my go to for many liquids.

Being a male, lately I just bring very basic toiletries, like a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, and then also a small travel bar of soap (that I actually got from a hotel during a recent stay). It's minimal, and most of the items (as mentioned) will provided. The bar of soap is handy because I have had one or two instances that a hotel (or hostel) did not provide toiletries and I didn't know before going and it also gives a bit of comfort knowing I'm prepared in case I encounter delays or unexpected layovers too. Of course I also pack the other necessity items (if I'm going for more than a few days, then I add shaving creme and just buy a razor whereever I'm going. IN most cases, though, I don't have to buy things when I get there but if it's a long trip (more than 1 week) then I might simply because I may go through more than 3 oz of shampoo for example, in over a week, although since I bring on such small amounts of liquids, I could probably just bring two 3 oz bottles of shampoo).

Lol I'm the female version of you except I don't need to shave. I do use the sensitive skin dove bar soap so I got one of those bags for it that keeps it from getting music and it will dry out, but keeps any moisture from leaking out.

Hi Megan. Can you make a video of your tips for using our cell phones abroad and avoid expensive roaming charges please? I usually buy a local sim card with data only. An inexpensive option but annoying for 2step verification stuff as online banking. And esim cards are more expensive and seem complicated. Thank you!

Great tip. My last trip I didn’t check my kit and when I got there I found I had no comb and couldn’t find a cheap one at my destination. Now there are 2 in there just in case. Thank You.

Great tips. Toiletries are stressful for me to pack, since they are the last items we pack up when moving from place to place. I pack as many solid toiletries as possible, so I don't have to worry much about liquids. I'm thinking of moving our toiletries bag to my personal item, so it's easier to slip in at the last minute, instead of zipping it into our rolling carry on. ✈🌺Heidi

It seems to be a European thing where Hotels provide towels, but not a washcloth. I prefer to use one when showering (many people use a loofa) and not having one can be a problem. So, on my next trip I will be packing one in a ziploc bag. US hotels all provide this but European hotels and B&Bs do not. Just a thought.

In the USA we have somthing call tsa pre check it is ($100 for 5 yeras) when you are in roll on that you go thru a separate line at tsa and you dont have to take your liquids bag out of carry on or take your shoes and belt off neither
@bradlevantis913 Жыл бұрын
That’s amazing. I wish it was available in other countries. Although I’m surprised you still need to do the shoe thing…. Haven’t had to do that in a long while through the Caribbean or Europe (& Canada stopped it as a regular thing as well unless you’ve getting a more thorough inspection). It’s interesting how it’s so different region to region
@erlobox20 Жыл бұрын
@@bradlevantis913 well they do that in the US but if you have tsa pre check you dont have to take them off.

Hi Megan!!! For the liquids allowance, I’m travelling with my two children and my wife on our first flight soon and we will only have two carry ons and two checked bags. Would we be able to put two liquid allowance bags in each carry on(mine and my wife’s) provided that we are 4 paid passengers on the flight?

Not everyone can use hotel products. Since I have very dry skin then I have to bring my own. I’m trying some solid lotions. Also like toothpaste I need sensitive tooth paste. I’m trying to switch as much as I can to solid.

Girlie-video, so I'll only offer this. If there's a 'point of failure' in my packing it will occur in the morning of departure, when I'll miss something I'm using for my morning ablutions. So, my washbag is left on top of, and outside, of my main, checked bag until I'm ready to go.

I am currently traveling in Germany and all of the hotels I have stayed in provide a pump bottle of “hair, hand, and body soap” in the shower and next to the sink. Are other countries switching to this single soap model?
@lisaphares2286 Жыл бұрын
Noticed in Amsterdam and Brussels and Bruge that shampoo and body wash are the same. Some places had conditioner and some didn’t. Some hotels didn’t have hair dryers. So I bought a travel hairdryer that can be switched to 250.

Eyelash curler? Did not even know there was such a device.
@vtcs1963 Жыл бұрын
It’s funny that you say that because all the beauty you tubers seem OBSESSED with eyelash curlers and another travel KZbinr mentioned that one of her “essentials” was an eyelash curler. Still, I never curl my eyelashes and the few times I’ve had my makeup professionally done (including for my son’s wedding and for being on TV) the MUA did not use it! So it seems kind of a scam to me!

Hotels don’t provide nearly enough body soap and body lotion. I bring my own or buy it when I get there. I also prefer my own hair products. They’re not that good at hotels and you don’t get much, in my experience.

What I need is a place to buy contact lens saline solution in less than the travel sized 2 oz. Why can't they sell them in 10ml disposable packets?

Heads up - sunscreen sticks give you much less sun protection than liquids, and dramatically less than the SPF listed. The reason is because you use so much less of the sticks than liquid sunscreen. Sunscreen sticks are useful if you can’t use another form of sunscreen for a certain area (like if your eyes get irritated), but sadly, that’s about it. Replacing your normal sunscreen with a stick is a great way to get a sunburn.
