I have been an OU fan since the 60s and I am used to the hype for Texas whether they deserve it or not. I do not mean to put the Texas Longhorns down but the Oklahoma Sooners have always been overlooked and been considered Texas's little brother since the big Xll started.

☝A lot of teams will be looking to test that DL and running on us. SEC has more boring NFLish offenses, not bad offenses, just more straightforward. Big12 teams rely on schemes and gimmicky offenses over lining up and trying to dominate/overpower your opponent.

I think you can easily remove Iowa and Wisconsin from this list, no B1G team from last year had a good passing offense, let alone a high scoring offense in general. All the B1G teams have inflated defensive stats because of it. It’s why OSU, Michigan, and Penn St are 1,2 and 3 in the overall defensive rankings.

Disagree with where THE university of Texas is ranked. They should be #1 in all position groups, coaching, etc with no close 2nd. OU should never be ranked within 30 spots of a ut position group. Nor will we ever beat them and they will win the super bowl. Every. Single. Year. L.O.L.

Let’s consider some OU secondary stats that tell the truth better than OU’s defensive total yards. Because, total yards only matter if every single FBS team defends the exact same amount of passes per season, which we all KNOW isn’t the case… 1. OU’s secondary defended the 11th-most passes of all teams in 23. That’s 436 attempts to be exact. Washington, Oregon, Texas, & Iowa are the only notable teams to have defended more passing attempts. 2. OU’s def secondary had the 14th best def completion % at 56.2 and was ranked directly behind Georgia and Iowa, who both have what is considered stellar defenses. 3. OU’s opponent QBs had the 12th worse QBR at 115.6 while playing against OU’s defense. If your QB has a rating of 115.6 all season, it would be considered a very poor season for your team. Georgia is ranked 4 places higher in this category for comparison. Lastly, OU’s secondary had the 2nd most interceptions of ALL FBS teams in 2023, only bested by Liberty, who had 21 int vs 19 for OU. Btw, OU only gave up 16 passing TDs in 23. So that’s more interceptions than TDs allowed! And that, folks, is the truth about OU’s secondary and defensive improvement in 2023!!! These so-called experts with a voice can stick it where the sun doesn’t shine!
