Not Louis and Ira only now discovering the massive TikTok trend from 2022 that is the Bonne Maman advent calendar 😂 I have one too, they’re the best. Perfect amount of jam for a tart.

The whole time Louis was discussing "Christmas in Connecticut" I was getting ready to write a suggestion he watch the wonderful "Remember the Night"; but fortunately Ira knows the score regarding awesome Stanwyck Christmas movies. And then Ira mentions "The Shop Around the Corner," my favorite X-mas movie- Ira rocks! For Preston Sturges, "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek" does partially take place at Christmastime, and definitely will make your spirits bright.

Faves: Christmas in Connectcut and Holiday Affair (Janet Leigh). Both adult love stories, peppered with sarcasm. . . .This year I watched After the Thin Man (more a New Year's movie!) Fun. '30s and '40s for the win.

I would've put money on that Louis would bring up The Shop Around the Corner rather than Ira, but well, I'm glad it got mentioned! Also, Last Holiday (no definitive article) was a remake as well starring Alec Guinness but has a not-so-festive ending. It was a really odd choice to adapt it since it wasn't particularly celebrated.

I’m not a mom but have one, so I loved Nightbitch. Like Tully, it’s very revealing of actual motherhood and the imbalance of work out in my mothers versus fathers in heterosexual relationships.

I literally JUST watched Last Holiday on Amazon Prime. Small world! It is really nice. I enjoyed it.
