Why does the auto pan feature not work when in reverse ? This is a feature I would have expected to work both forward and in reverse

Why would you not have the Auto panning feature working while reversing as head movement makes no difference anymore as we are not looking at a reflection. Looking back through the window is now hindered by the window not fully opening anymore making leaning out and looking back very difficult. If the bottom view was switched with top view when reverse gear was engaged then that would assist greatly if allowing Auto Panning to work is not possible. Please put this right. I have over 35yrs experience reversing artics and in the 3 days so far these cameras have been activated its been a embarrassing experience. Also, why are we not able to adjust the up & Down movement of the camera. I am now unable to view the top corner of the trailer in tight situations. A reply from a representative of Daf would be appreciated

The " safe " restriction for the view of the camera is not ideal either. Why would you want 20% of the width of the screen taken up with a view of the side of the trailer. It also gives an abnormal viewing experience, compared to when you move the camera so that it just skins down the edge of the trailer. Also the upper image is way too pixelated and grainy.

I have class 1 , for 31yrs and I couldn't reverse either , for the last 3 weeks with those cameras, I've had to learn again, but mastered it now

Why does it not work when reversing the Mercedes trucks have that so why doesn’t the new daf

What's the point of having adjustable wing mirrors/cameras if they can't be adjusted or if you do they go back to the default setting. I like my mirrors to be set so the trailer looks like it's following in a straight line behind and not sticking out. I've had no problem with any other truck in the past so my now

Calibration of those lines, is it possible to do it manually? He changed the camera on the right and the two yellow lines are on the trailer

Als je eindpunt van de trailer bepaald hebt..dan heb je een referentiepunt. Maar als je de voertuig uitzet met dat weer opnieuw. Als je dat meerdere keren per dag moet doen, kost dat hoop tijd. Of kannje hem instellen en die waarden vast zetten, totdat je van trailer wisselt? Hoor het graag, omdat ik binnenkort ook de XG+ ga besturen.

I am 3 weeks now into driving our new fleet of XG units with cameras. Nice trucks to drive but drivers hate the cameras. They are grainy, almost like watching a 1980s VHS tape, at night car headlights are just blurred. It’s like having cataracts. The cameras track the trailer near side going forwards but offer nothing reversing. We all thought they would pan across to eliminate the blindside but they don’t. I have no idea why these are seen as an improvement on clean wing mirrors which offer depth and clarity of vision. Further because you can’t see the cameras and judge their distance they keep getting hit by trees and high bushes. With mirrors you can see them and therefore judge distance.

A wise man told me if you have to think about something then it’s a bad idea. These camera mirrors along with digital instruments, touch screens, etc, are a seriously BAD idea. 🤔🙄Edit….. Also did DAF not test these camera mirrors at night? It’s like looking at an old grainy dark VHS picture especially on an unlit road, so bad I have to wear my glasses to try and see what’s going on where as I can drive perfectly without them when using normal mirrors. Following traffic look like out of focus blobs of light which are hard to judge how far behind you they are, also you are faced with a constant barrage of bright light from both A pillar screens which induce head aches These dangerous camera mirrors should be outlawed asap. These camera mirrors are one truly DAF/t idea.

Why is there no button to reset, you forget to push the conformation button you loose all use of the camera.

Auto pan not working while reversing, jittering while paning, the screen resolution is insufferable to the point you can't distinguish between a Mercedes Vito and a Volkswagen Sharan.... You cannot see a german BAG van from far Is is that bad !

I would like to think technology is for the better, but as for the cameras this is not so. There is meny problems, I don't under stand that test drivers if you use them don't condem them. Quality of picture, lights a blure when behind in the dark, screens looking foggy when rain drops on them, judging distance on overtake not great, people with glasses on not great with prescriptions, looks ugly, judging width of truck cos not visible, they are dangerous

the auto-rotate camera function is more useful when reversing. too bad it only works forward

So when reversing one of these pieces of junk, the graffics appearing on the screen completely block out pedestrians at the rear of the trailer.

Based on your preference, many drivers are giving feedback that's important. DAF it seems, is ignoring the questions. I'll buy Mercedes instead.

Using that system at night is a nightmare, nobody from my company wants to use it , terrible view at night , and that window .. rolling down only half , very hard to reverse , very bad idea with that cameras , bring normal mirrors back ... this is not the future , this is something what reducing fuel consumption for huge companies, and we simple drivers are those who suffer

According to DAF this vidio is wrong the lines should go up the side of your trailer is right. This gives you no visual aid whatsoever so if is pointless having the lines.

What a stupid design as i can't fold my mirrors. Can't see the reason of changing something that works to something that has so many flaws
