Once Agniveer gets appointed, does 6month training. Then, he will be able to give service for 3.6 years. Out of which, last one year will be his preparation for retirement.he will be able to do one and half service. What efficiency they will have. They are burden for regular personal. Rahul Gandhi categorically stated that Agniveer Ajay Singh did not get any compensation with MoD Rajnath Singh saying that Ajay Singh's family received One Crore Rupees.. The subsequent video released by him showed that Ajay Singh's parents saying that they did not receive any payments but later saying that they indeed received Rs. 98 Lacs. When all this is pieced together, it was Rahul Gandhi who was lying!!! Secondly, SSC Officers either opting out of Defence Forces or discharged from Services after their tenure also are not given pension, medical venifits or CSD Canteen Facilities. Is it right to say that SSC should also be abolished? An agniveer receives a monthly Salary of Rs. 30,000/- with usual allowances and increments for hardships etc equivalent to an regular soldier. On Discharge he is paid a lumpsum of around Rs.11 Lacs. I do agree that the scheme can be tweeked to say seven yeas of service with job assurance in Para-Military Forces after discharge from the defence forces..It is totally wrong to say that an agniveer is left in lurch as per Rahul Gandhi. When Rahul Gandhi says that he would abolish Agniveer Scheme if he comes to power, will he also abolish SSC Officer Recruitments, which was introduced by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru after the debacle of 1962 War with China with a tenure of 5years of Service?

It’s true then, govt compensation hasn’t reached the family. I read elsewhere that there’s still pending paper work and checking going on for that. Also, we should be glad that the family woes of this jawan is being highlighted. But there might be many Agniveer family who would still be struggling, The government should consider increasing the term to 8 years as there is in Short Service Commission in Army and give pension, health insurance and CSD benefits to living personnel and their families as well. Why must we lose a life for the latter to be true. There are many corporate entities whose loans have been written off, certainly the government can afford to pay pension to personnels instead of that.

There is accident insurance given banks for account and card holders, but it is normally in the range of only 2-3 lakhs. So if this martyred Agnivesh has received 50 lakhs, it is only because the Government / Army has signed a MOU with the financial institution. Also, the insurance provided by the Army Institution is paid for by the Government. Whether the Government directly pays the compensation or the soldier gets paid through the insurance, it is a matter of policy. With due regards to the martyred soldier and his family, they have received close to 1 crore in compensation and are set to receive another 67 lakhs. 1.65 Crore is not peanuts !
