Appreciate you putting a spotlight on Vickie. I feel like she doesn’t get enough respect like her contemporaries Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Yolanda Adams and Karen Clark Sheard. In the 80s and early 90s mama was not to be played with on the mic, and she’s still amazing.

Sung in a Musical on Broadway in the early 90s 3. Owns & recorded her last 2 albums not just in her own studio, but on her own record label "Destiny Joy Records"

Well deserved spotlight and vocal masterclass on a great Gospel Artist. Beautiful Queen, with a humble, humorous spirit. I never claimed to be a Gospel Singer because she was the standard for me. With her beautiful belting and flawless runs, I could only listen to and marvel😮. (Although I did cover “When” her beautiful smooth song on her “Be Encouraged” album that was my lane😉). Vickie is a trailblazer BOSS Lady who was running her own biz without the help of social media back in the day! She is still showing us class, elegance and what being a well rounded artist looks like. Well done Vickie Winans, and May God continue to bless all that you do. ❤️👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾

Absolutely!! Indeed, she did it without the help f Social Media, and these new electronic devices doing half the work for you. But she did it the hard way. She has to write a book! Because I thought most Gospel artists were barely making it, because they are very secretive, but Vicki let us know that she was successful in Gospel music. Awesome interview listening to her!!

If jesus is what you are looking for. I’m listening for a Good solid record and excellent vocals, strong songs, lyrically and superb production. The Lady is it. Her other records serve other purposes (and audiences). I don’t necessarily enjoy listening to those records as much as I enjoy listening to The Lady. This one still ‘ministers’ to me so to speak. And that says a lot after all these years. To each one’s own.

It's all good and for the glory of God! Like she said, Nobody can put her in a box! I love the diversity! I’m so glad I got a chance to listen to Vicki Winans behind the awesome voice. It was great to know she handled her successful career by herself. I could listen to her all day long. She has a different kind of anointing that’s so inviting and down to earth. I have definitely been blessed by her music throughout the years, but I didn’t know so much of her music stayed on the top charts so long, because I just knew it was good singing, but didn’t know the statistics behind it. This was such a blessing, because Gospel singers seem to be so secretive about how successful they are, but I wish Vicki would write a book about how to be successful and able to make a living doing it, and have successful businesses on the side!

I remember hearing Sandy Patti We Shall Behold Him, and then hearing hers and being moved in a totally different place in my soul, as a little child. I used to play and replay her “My Statue of Liberty “ swearing I was hitting the notes with her (I’m an alto). I was in total awe of her voice and I wasn’t any older than 10. And on the ride’s to church “long as I got King Jesus “ came on the radio and we were all ready to get our praise on clapping and fake shouting in our seats in the car. Vickie is THAT LADY!

This was great! Not only was it an awesome breakdown of the voice and musical legacy of Vickie Winans, but it was cool to see the face behind Malik's voice as well. I'm probably the only person who visualizes people when I hear their voices, and I'm always wrong. lol I met Vickie Winans a little over a decade ago and got to sing background for her on Bobby Jones' show in Vegas, and she was the warmest, sweetest person you'd ever want to meet.
