You're right - the wrap dress is a classic and still resonates today. I remember there were also midriff wrap tops that were very fashionable that I wore with jeans as a teenager. Also halter neck tops in t-shirt and cheesecloth material, I enjoyed laughing along to "Young Frankenstein" but, like you, I can't watch horror movies so gave those a wide berth!

I’m always so amazed when people can separate art from the artist, must make life so much more fun, I bet 💔❤️

Like your headwrap. It reminds me of Rhoda (Valerie Harper) from the Mary Tyler Moore Show. You're right on the wrapped dress. It is a classic. Also, Chinatown is one of my favorite films. By ’74 the Stones and Zeppelin remained top acts in rock, but a new batch of acts was emerging. KISS and AC/DC were just getting started and getting attention. They played rock, but it was different than the sixties acts. I tended to stick with what I knew; still in college quad, that’s what was being going on. Nixon resigned as president due to Watergate. In certain sectors there was jubilation. Faith in authority figures was further eroded. At least Tricky Dick had the ability to feel ashamed of his crimes eventually. My first year of college was an academic disaster. I had no clue as to a major and little interest in just fulfilling basic requirements. My free time was mostly spent surfing and in pursuit of the plentiful single women at school and just hanging out. My 1967 VW Bug wouldn’t accommodate a longboard, so I switched to a new shortboard that was just gaining interest. It fit inside, which kept it safe. I spent countless hours in the campus library listening to the extensive rock record collection. I was able to sneak in a cassette recorder and acquired a decent allotment of classic 60s albums. By the second semester, a friend and I got an apartment. That was a big mistake. Our apartment quickly became, for want of a better term, a home for wayward young women. I’d go to class and return a few hours later to find two or three unknown chicks in the living room, let in by my roommate or one of the other unfamiliar girls who’d taken up temporary residence. At the time, I was mostly attracted to blonde emotionally damaged women. Dates I brough back to the apartment sometimes would wind up staying for weeks on end. The transitory aspect of the living arrangement got to be too much, and by summer, I moved back home. I finished the year with about five completed classes. Skating by like I did in high school wasn’t working anymore. Fortunately, college in California at that time was dirt cheap. The entire disaster of a year cost less than $200. I resolved to be more focused the next year. The girl I would soon become reacquainted with was the driving force for that.

in 1974, CBGBs opened in the Bowery district of New York City ... starting out as a Country BlueGrass & Blues venue, they introduced local rock bands on Monday nights ... these included the Ramones, the Stilettos (featuring Debbie Harry) and the Talking Heads ... CBGBs would become a pioneer punk and new wave venue over the next many years
