Explaining MOHS Surgery to Dad.

Dad did much better during our absence because Mark came to stay here with him so the change wouldn’t be so dramatic. Andrew and Mark teamed up to take care of him and it definitely showed. Family support is so important. And the end is nothing short of heartwarming.

I am so happy, Dr. Ed is having a good day. I lost my dad in 2001 and my mom to dementia on May 9, 2019. I wish I had taken more pictures and videos to hear her voice. Dan, thank you for sharing your father and family with us!Parents are a blessing! Cherish them no matter what because when they are gone, they are gone. God bless everyone!😊

Dan, enjoy every minute you have with Ed. The hospital had a Palliative care doctor call me and if my dad doesn't improve in 3 days, we have to switch to hospice. It is his intestines not working and now he won't eat. His stomach is distended due to what is happening. He still knows who I am and for that I am grateful. I am just not ready for this. Hold your loved ones clost.

It's good he has a grandchild to help with him. I bet he kept asking where you were. I had no one to help me with my mom. Until I decided it was time to quit work and stay with mom 24/7 I did have good neighbors that would check on her while I was at work. Family wasn't willing to do anything. Which it was cousins. I have no brothers and sisters. I sure appreciated my neighbors.

She did really well until the end, i miss her so much its been 24 years. Just continue to make good loving memories and take care of pops like your doing. He loves you ❤

I know it must be hard sometimes for his loved ones to see a shell of who he was. I can tell Dr.Salinger was/is obviously very intelligent, caring, and pretty dang funny. Even in his constant confusion he still shows so much interest in what his loved ones are doing and how they’re doing even though he forgets asking over and over. Hopefully one day there will be a great treatment for dementia.
