Pitou’s specialist ability, “Doctor Blythe”, doesn’t use emission because it’s not a detachment of aura, hence why it’s connected to her tail. However the reasoning for her limited movement is because it’s limitation/condition helps strengthen her healing affect

Rob Gucci I can say the biggest reason why his abilities are Transmutation is that his Nen dragons are not seen by normal people, thus not real, and also not Emission as they typically are not disconnected from his body (biggest exception being Dragon Dive). On reddit, there is something called the Little Nen Encyclopedia, which as a fan work calls Transmutation abilities like Zeno's a subtype called "Sculptor Type", where the qualities they change their Nen to match something 'not real' (The dragon). It's not perfect, but I hope my explanation makes sense.

MrGukkos its a pretty good take on the subject. But it just seemed to me that transmuters have to change the physical properties/substance of their aura. Like Killua turned aura into lightning and Hisoka’s is rubbery and gummy. But Zeno’s aura is still just... aura. Even Silva’s aura is possibly plasma or something. All Zeno seems to be doing is changing the shape of his aura, which is more akin to emmiters- arrows and bullets. Yeah the dragons are usually connected to his body but it doesn’t seem like he’s “transmuting” the aura. Unless he gave it properties of a dragon, but then it’d be odd you can give aura properties of living creatures...

i guess it would be transmuting, but itd be too weird for me. Aura is life energy, but its not living itself. Its a tool, a substance created by the user. Basically what Im trying to say is that aura doesnt think, eat, breathe like a creature would, so it makes more sense to transmute it into another substance- rubber or lightning. And to me just changing the form of aura isnt enough to call one a transmuter because emitters (possibly other types too) do the same thing. The only slight difference is whether its connected or not. Its possible for Zeno to be giving his nen the life of the dragon, but I need to know exactly what properties of a dragon are given, cause as far as looks, his aura is just aura. But right now nothings really certain. Hopefully 2spooky makes the vid and I can be convinced lol
