I'll break it down in simple terms: A value is stored as data in memory. This value is located via an address. These two properties define an object. A pointer is an object whose value is an address. As for reference: An object can be represented in code as a variable. An object's address can also be represented in code as a separate variable. If a variable is created to represent an object, it is that object. If a variable is created to represent an object's address, it is a reference to that object.

So... there's a difference between the thing itself and a reference to the thing?

@@dudestolemyname69 Yes. The thing itself is physical data in memory. The reference is a variable in code.

This video is already very short but the end is really drawn out. Viewer retention is important, so keep your video's concise, snappy, and, if you are able to, be more energetic. People like when the person explaining the topic is enthusiastic about what they are talking about and I did not get that impression from this video. The other thing is that you need to incorporate more of a story, even if there isn't one. And finally the most important, quality over quantity. Daily uploads will get you nowhere if your videos are not amazing, and yes, I mean amazing. If you want to blow up you need to need to put out the best video's that you can (just remember that not uploading because you can't make the perfect video also doesn't help). If you released one video per year but it was the pinnacle of KZbin content, you would most likely have a cult following. Some things to consider.

I would actually like to see a more detailed video on pointers. But also, if you are tired rn, I suggest for you to take a little break, sometimes it's better just to stop and think for a bit. Before making the next move forward :) Good luck!
