I love learning about peoples tattoos! My first tattoo is a black star on my elbow and it symbolizes my love for Avril Lavigne. Kat would probably love my left arm because it has a killer whale, a penguin, and a seal! 🦭 I have a lot of cute pieces, a couple pokemon ones, a raccoon eating cotton candy on my calf which was pure agony but so worth it 😍

I like Novas feather, I think its a good drawing. I ADORE the pumpkin!!!! SO CUTE!!!! Olympias neck tat is nice. I don't like dinos myself, but the artwork is beautiful. There is cover up makeup you can get just to hide tats if you need to. And it washes off at the end of the day, so no harm done.

I'm always interested in the background behind people's tattoos. I didn't get my first one til very late in life, mainly because they weren't really a trend when I was younger. My only tattoo is a Moomin (if you're aware of the cartoon) I may go for a favourite movie next but I'm torn between The Craft, The Colour Purple and Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children. Maybe Olympia and Nova can advise as to which they think they would go for personally?

I’m never getting a tattoo, being 55 yr old git. A friend of mine who is in his early 90’s has the initials of MANDY tattooed on his knuckles (conveniently 5 letters), unfortunately he didn’t Marry Mandy, and married someone else. They had been married over 55yrs before she sadly died. There endeth the lesson.

I have one more session and my sleeve will be complete. It’s of the Japanese god of thunder - Raijin. With various thunderstorm bits and taiko drums surround him. That’s on my upper arm. On my fore arm, I wanted to keep with the mythos but give it my own personal spin. Raijin has a lightning accomplice named Raiju. The artwork for it isn’t as striking as I’d prefer. So I worked with my artist and we came up with a lightning dragon with a cityscape inspired by Akira. It’s in full color and these words are not doing it justice. Bonus of it all, the orange used in the highlights of the dragon face glow under black light! So that’s fun. I have several more ideas planned.

Nova, just buy some JPro numbing cream. You will be numb for a good 2 hours

Numbing cream is really not good to use for tattoos - it changes the skin texture so can make things difficult for the artist and also can affect healing in weird ways. It's generally best to avoid it if you can! 💕

If a tattoo artist refused to complete my tattoo in the way I wanted it done on the grounds that it was “upside down” I would leave immediately and tell any person interested in getting tattooed to not go to that artist. It’s MY money, it’s going on MY body. If I get more done and regret that one is “upside down” later, that’s on me.

For some reason, I can't post my tattoo here. I had breast cancer in 2016. For my 70th birthday in 2021, my kids paid for a tattoo for me. It's on my inner arm, below my wrist. It's the cancer ribbon with the Hebrew letter Chai, which means "Life." It's facing in a way that I can look at it. Tattoo artists may not like it, but too bad. I love it. I was planning to have it filled in with pink. I told my daughter, "I think I'll be done for now" before the artist colored it in. My daughter said, "Why? Are you getting tired?" I said, "NO! This really hurts!" I said I'd use a pink sharpie if I really wanted it colored in. I look at it every day and think about how lucky I am that I have beaten cancer.

I love tattoos and im still collecting i got a Geisha on my arm that my sister did when she finished her training, 2 blue Stars on my arms in honor of my favorite Anime Character (Franky from One Piece) i have a Sonic tattoo,a Barbie Mirror, a japanese style wolf, an Anubis on my thigh, a Ballon in the shape of the initial of my Sister's name (made in tandem with her so she has a Balloon in the shape of my initial) a Disney collage , a Journey to the west tattoo, a Pumpkin, a Haunted Mansion, the Devil wears prada symbol , a ouija planchette and a Ram head

Thanks for this video, I’ve been non-stop shopping tattoo artists because tomorrow I have to get a double mastectomy and will want to tattoo over the scars when they’re healed. It’s serendipitous that you’re doing this episode all about your tattoos! I love Olympia’s clue tattoos and Novas feather. I drew my first tattoo too, its wings modeled after Da Vinci’s sketch book with the word volare worked into it in his handwriting.

I've a foot tattoo also, right across the top of all the bones. It obviously needs re touching and fixing a little. But, i remember how painful it was and how swollen my foot was and I don't think I can do it again. Because, as you age, your pain threshold, especially for tattoos, goes down and you can't take it as well as you may have once did. Nova, I feel you on this one.

Genuinely nova if you want to get the foot tattoo done get some numbing cream, it doesn’t totally numb you up and after a while it wares off but the pain slowly builds so it may help you sit through the appointment
