What offset spring plates are you using or are you making them? I’m about to do a type 3 conversation in my 66 and looking for options, I know wagonswest sells them just looking for cost saving options if there are them

I got them from Rusty bottoms garage in Smyrna, Tennessee! He made me one inch offset two inch drop, you would have to send in cores in advance, “no cores no plates”!

i have a 67 split window bus and want to go straight axle. i have the old speed kit (torque tubes, shafts, spring plates, etc.). can you tell me what kind of disc brake options i have for this set up? also, do you have a video of how to flip the ring gear?

On my double cab I’m using 1983-1986 Porsche 944 non turbo disk brakes all around, I have to do some.mods to the rear because the bearings are greased on the Porsche and wet oil for the straight axle! On my 66 I will be using regular beetle rear disk brakes and Porsche 944 in the front, it should be enough stopping Power for the bus! Hi Rod...I have a 62 split bus with the original swingaxle...I'm looking to remove the reducers...do I use the same trany but move the ring gear from one side to the other and then use what year straight shafts???? I'm lost...

Yes! You can use your transmission, but since buses have reduction gear boxes your transmission is going the opposite direction because the reduction gears will make the tires spin the correct way! Now the reason for the Transmission to have two sides that open is to change the differential ring gear unit from one side to the other making it spin the correct way!

Hi I’m going to put a straight axle in my 61 bus, and the bearing cap seems to be to small, is there two sizes?
