These techniques are absolute insanity. All of this research, testing, and practice to save 30 seconds. Gunner is truly a maniac.
@GunnermaniacАй бұрын
The original concept was thought of by Exarion. Pokeguy figured out some new EXP-routing stuff and finally StringFlow did the actual programming to find the manip. Amazing effort by all. I only helped with some problem solving.

30 seconds in a game that's been worked on for decades, is huge.

Very nice explanation! I don't know what boggles my mind more on these strats honestly. Like whether it's the fact that you have to know the AI so well, have to know/research which specific sequences of each frames make this strategy work and then having to be able to execute these perfectly within a few frames (fractions of a second) and then having to perform an almost 2 hour run is insane to me!
@ilianplompen9975Ай бұрын
I can understand the mental part as well, figuring this out and then heavily testing it and then not being able to do full runs for a month, also considering the mental with a returning/reaggravation of an injury, that's rough...

The pidgeotto manip looks so simple when you just perform it live and it goed well. Its crazy how technical it really is

I remember Shen joking about this very Pidgeotto Manip during a speedrun at GDQ...and here we are 😅 it is phenomenal to see the improvements of different games over the years.
@readmycomment3707Ай бұрын
All that just to get a pidgeotto that has agood chance of killing you lmao. Crazy strat.

I thought this was supposed to make it easier but it just makes it a harder speed run

That's the joke with these things, they rarely make it easier, but they always make it faster.

“It's supposed to be a challenge, that's why they call it a shortcut. If it was easy it would just be the way.”
@altheapolyamАй бұрын
@@rickypotter8526 it's not supposed to be anything wdym xd also a shortcut is añways just the way unless you want to take thing slow, plus, when more people start mastering this "shortcut" it'll become the way as anything else would mean losing time

Surprised an LSU fan could figure this out. I'd have just assumed you were lighting bonfires and drinking whiskey at 8 am. Impressive.
