@@chrishowell6469 Yeah 2017 was Leatherface (same name as TCMIII) which is the same timeline as 1 and 3D. This new one that apparently is coming on Netflix is a direct sequel to the original, ignoring all sequels like 2018's Halloween. I bet that becomes the new trend in horror now. I would argue that the "original" timeline ended with Halloween II, and that the continuation of 4, 5, and 6 would comprise a 2nd timeline. But that's honestly being nitpicky. Hell, if you really wanna get nerdy, you could legitimately make an argument that the original Halloween was it's own standalone, and that H2 is a 2nd timeline. lol All in all, a great video summary of the timelines, and a nice cap to the Halloween series you made (at least until you continue that when Halloween Ends comes out next year). So I have a deep thought concerning the opening sequences of 78, 18 and Kills go. The pumpkins represent the intended focus. In 78 it's one pumpkin (Laurie Strode) and her focus is Michael. He is in the eye of the jack o' lantern. In 18 is the same but it has the revival of said jack o' lantern just like Laurie and Michael. Kills represents the town getting caught up in the fire of Michael and to some extent Laurie.
@616Entertainment3 жыл бұрын
You're only the second person I've ever known that has gone with the 'Michael is in the eye of the pumpkin' theory. It started on Reddit, and I really, really don't see it. I don't think there's anything there, it's a super reach. But that aside, I like the pumpkins/focus theory.

I know it's a bit less canonical, but I'd like to see you go through George A Romero's Night of the Living Dead series. Romero has directed 6 Living Dead movies. There's another on the way next year, Night of the Living Dead II, the first official Romero-verse Living Dead movie to be made after his death in 2017. I just noticed that the poster of "Halloween III" reads "The night no one comes home." Nice little homage to the original movie. I was talking to a buddy a couple of days ago about "Halloween Kills" when I realized this. "Kills" & "Ends" are actually a year behind. "Kills" was set to be released last year and "Ends" this year. But with current circumstances, they both were pushed back. This actually created a happy accident by creating a parallel to the first three original movies. The original "Halloween" dropped in 1978, "Halloween II" in 1981 & "Halloween III" in 1982. The movie that establishes the new timeline dropped in 2018, "Kills" dropped in 2021 & "Ends" drops in 2022. Exactly 40 years removed from the original first three. I think that is awesome. I also agree that just naming the 2018 movie "Halloween" and making it the direct sequel to '78 is dumb, especially if the new sequels have an extra word in the title. If the second and third movies in the "40 Years Trilogy" are called "Kills" and "Ends," maybe the first movie should have been called "Halloween Breathes" or "Halloween Lives."

I’d be curious to see your take on the Halloween comics. The three part comic titled “Halloween” weirdly was responsible for actually bridging the gap between Curse of Michael Myers and H20, making them part of the same timeline instead of two separate ones.
@616Entertainment3 жыл бұрын
The comics are not canon and I now viscerally hate them for making me talk about the Thorn being related to H20 AGAIN.

If you think about it too there’s actually even more timelines cause H20 was intended to be the final chapter by Miner, Jamie Lee, Durand and the writer too so there’s a timeline that ends there too. There’s also just 1 & 2 as Michael & Loomis die at the end as intended by Carpenter.

You know bro the 616 Time line pics sounds about right. As for others Friday The 13th,Nightmare On Elm Street,Texas Chainsaw are all good but i think it would be cool to see one on Night Of The living Dead because of how many movies they had and inspired other Zombie films/video games

I love going through timelines! As you said we come up with our own timelines The 1, 2, and 4 is one for me and your 616 is another I like. Halloween ‘07 (theatrical with alternative/better ending) is the way I watch that film ending that timeline. I really love the new timeline so far. 2018 needs no words while, Kills was a spooky, fun, and fantastic continuation, and I’m ready to hear what you thought weather you loved it or hated it… or didn’t care for it. I wanna hear. My ideal timeline to this day is still Halloween ‘78 and Halloween 2. That’s it! The ending of Loomis sacrificing himself, Michael burning to a cinder, and Laurie being safe is my end. Next to Michael getting his head chopped off (In the words of James Rolf) “THAT’S DEADER THEN HE’S EVER BEEN!” And I couldn’t agree more! I may adore the new timeline and for awhile 2018 was a worthy end, but now with Kills and ends being Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi, they may not take my idea timeline spot but I’ll always consider it a top as well. Plus I just adore Halloween 2 so… yeah. hehe

Excellent breakdown on this whole Halloween timeline mess. I know the Friday the 13th series has been getting thrown around a lot already and while I would personally love to see you do a history of about my favorite horror franchise, I’m going to say Hellraiser. I’m not a Hellraiser guy and that’s because these movies confuse the shit out of me 😂. Not sure if you’re into Hellraiser or not but that would be an interesting history of.

Good video man!! Its best to just see it as 5 timelines. Simply because if we break down all the different intentions and inconsistencies we get way more than that and some of them are basically the same damn timelime. With the films (ignoring literature ie. Novels, comics, etc.) we get like 39 timelines. I also don't think Halloween 5 ends a timeline the same way H4 could have. H5 leaves all that shit up in the air, so while it took 6 years to get a continuation, it was clearly a continuation. But ya man great video! Timeline 1: Halloween (1978) Timeline 2: Halloween (1978) and Halloween 2 (1981) Timeline 3: Halloween (1978) and Halloween 2 (1981 TV) Timeline 4: Halloween (1978 TV) and Halloween 2 (1981) Timeline 5: Halloween (1978 TV) and Halloween 2 (1981 TV) Timeline 6: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981), and Halloween 4 Timeline 7: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), and Halloween 4 Timeline 8: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981), and Halloween 4 Timeline 9: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween (1981 TV), and Halloween 4 Timeline 10: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981), Halloween 4, Halloween 5, and Halloween 6 (Theatrical) Timeline 11: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween 4, Halloween 5, and Halloween 6 (Theatrical) Timeline 12: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981), Halloween 4, Halloween 5, and Halloween 6 (Theatrical) Timeline 13: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween 4, Halloween 5, and Halloween 6 (Theatrical) Timeline 14: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2, Halloween 4, Halloween 5, and Curse (Producer) Timeline 15: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween 4, Halloween 5, and Curse (Producer) Timeline 16: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981), Halloween 4, Halloween 5, and Curse (Producer) Timeline 17: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween 4, Halloween 5, and Curse (Producer) Timeline 18: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2, (1981), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (1) Timeline 19: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (1) Timeline 20: Halloween (1978 TV) Halloween 2, Halloween H20, and Resurrection (1) Timeline 21: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (1) Timeline 22: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2, (1981), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (2) Timeline 23: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (2) Timeline 24: Halloween (1978 TV) Halloween 2, Halloween H20, and Resurrection (2) Timeline 25: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (2) Timeline 26: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2, (1981), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (3) Timeline 27: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (3) Timeline 28: Halloween (1978 TV) Halloween 2, Halloween H20, and Resurrection (3) Timeline 29: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (3) Timeline 30: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2, (1981), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (4) Timeline 31: Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (4) Timeline 32: Halloween (1978 TV) Halloween 2, Halloween H20, and Resurrection (4) Timeline 33: Halloween (1978 TV), Halloween 2 (1981 TV), Halloween H20, and Resurrection (4) Timeline 34: Halloween (1978), Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends Timeline 35: Halloween (2007) and Halloween 2 (2009) Timeline 36: Halloween (2007 Director) and Halloween 2 (2009 Director) Timeline 37: Halloween (2007) and Halloween 2 (2009 Director) Timeline 38: Halloween (2007 Director) and Halloween 2 (2009) Timeline 39: Halloween 3 Edit: thinking about it more now, I do think H5 could be an ending Timeline and h20 as well. Its just h5 having Loomis die is the only real issue. H20 I initially didn't count as a timeline ender because Akkad said he didn't want to kill of Michael regardless of how Curtis felt.

"I grew up in Langdon and even there we knew the stories-- the legends of the mid-west boogeyman. Michael Myers, the little boy who killed his sister, Judith, on Halloween night. Exactly fifteen years later, he escaped and slaughtered over a dozen people. They told everyone he was dead, but they never caught him, never found a body. As children, we even believed he wouldn't die. There were always whispers-- whispers that became screams when summer gave way to fall."

Man,the Timeline of the franchise is almost as screw up more than the Terminator or the MK franchise rebooting the franchise for stupid reasons thanks to greedy and corrupt companies nowadays since they are clearly running out of ideas and don't understand what they are doing because majority of Reboots and Remakes are the cost of this madness,however they're a few exceptions of the last 2 movies and 1 coming on it's way so that the franchise could finally rest in peace,all in all great video and whatever have in my for horror movies slasher in the future,I will be there.
