Details, details. First, the angel is not blindfolded. The nose is uncovered, the eyelashes visible. If anything, the angel's forehead is bandaged. Second, more important. The author is Finnish, and most likely, had a Christian background. When analyzing a work that includes religious motifs, looking up what those motifs mean spares one from mistaken interpretations. In Christianity (all versions), an angel *is not a powerful deity.* An angel is defined as a spiritual being (not male, not female - that's not a girl in the painting), more powerful than a human, but at the service of God and of humankind. Angel means "messenger." You google the rest.
