The movement comes form the center out. In the beginning it is the hips and then get it to move ever further into the your center.

The bokuto that I am using is made from Osage Orange wood. it was custom made for me, 14" tsuka and 30" nagassa. Bugei Trading company sells the longer bokken/bokuto and their are a number of custom makers out there.

The front ankle has been displaced, it is not there to be cut, at the same time he is being cut down.
