It’s so strange that when vajrayana Buddhists talk about their ways to solve problems, they always say that their way is very different from others. But it is not true. Particularly in this example, Rinpoche is right that there’s no such a way in Theravada as putting all the defilements on oneself in order to save others. But as for looking at something as it is? It is not a vajrayana special practice it is a basic 3rd satipatthana, the main method of mindfulness taught by Buddha. It is in Pali canon. And Theravada Buddhists are those who imply it most of all.

Yes this is true. What he teaches as Vajrayana is just mindfulness practice. No difference.

Theravada don't find an "antidote". Instead Theravada person observes whatever condition that arises through mindfulness (e.g. Vippasana Mediation) without any blocking, "antidote" or judgement. All conditions arise & pass away. So is everything, they are impermanent. Theravada believes a person can become Buddha in this lifetime. Once a Buddha, teach others how to become Buddhas. That's the practical compassion

actually if you ever practiced Vipassana meditation, (one of the four techniques taught in Satipatthana Sutta), you would know that it is the exact method explained by Khyentse, that all you need to do is to watch the sensation of jealousy without any judgement, since whatever the mind does to explain the sensation called Jealousy is false, is a mind game. At the bottom of it, it is just a sensation, a vibration. That's the original Buddha's teaching. I am surprised to learn that it is actually the Varayana practice. It also explains that not many people truly understands Satipatthana and how to practice. A bit of a shame.

So Theravada does not recognise the authority of the Vedas but the other two does?

Mahayana sounds like Jesus 😅😅 Salvation, sins etc of others onto oneself. Theravada sounds like the original Gautama Buddha. Salvation through meditation, self effort etc. Become self enlightened first before teaching others.
