I stayed and learned something. This is the very reason I didn't get into teaching after graduating with a BA in elementary education. I have never understood grammar. I still don't know what a prepositional phrase is but I'm sure I use them when I speak or write. [Smile]

Sarah, your videos are brilliant. I'm an English teacher based in Brazil, and your videos breathe new life into our downright fossilized ESL industry. I reckon you must be familiar with Beniko Mason's papers on extensive reading and comprehensible input. Her findings, based on Krashen's theory of second language acquisition, illustrate how direct learning is not entirely efficient when it comes to beginners and intermediate students. Keep up the up the good work! ps: don't get me wrong, but I have a crush on you 😅

Grammar is important (we all use grammar subconsciously when we speak our native languages) but immersion is more important. Btw, I'm a second language English speaker and I also learnt English through immersion like many other second language English speakers.
