So wild that it hit things sideways and spread out the force over the length of the projectile and didn't penetrate like with the wood and the ballistic gel glove. I appreciate all the effort that goes into making these videos- many thanks!

What folks don’t realize that if nothing was behind the shell then the shell itself would shoot off the bullet causing little to no damage, like if a round was thrown in a fire.
@camerongover84592 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say no damage lol If it split a watermelon rounds tossed in a fire fire could take your eye out and definitely penetrate skin with brass fragments

Sounds about right, the bullet itself is way heavier than the brass, it’d probably still hurt if it hit you in the face or shin though

I'd like to see comparisons of same ammo types but in steel cased. So like, steel cased 9mm 115gr and a brass cased 9mm 115gr. I wonder what difference there'd be in the cases retaining pressure longer.
@ulrichkalber90392 жыл бұрын
i would guess there would be little difference. if one of the materials is stronger it would probably be produced into thinner cartridges.

The digital recording or rendering seems like it does some funky stuff in slow mo when moved frame by frame. Like it's using the static info from the previous frame and the bullet can't be seen but the shadow of it is there.

Would like to see you do one of these where you put a couple wraps of tape around the end of the case be-it electrical or duct tape or even scotch tape, or all of the above, and see if you’d get any more force out of the round acting as a makeshift “chamber”.

So does all that unburnt powder burn in the barrel as the bullet travels down the barrel, or does the barrel rifleling exert enough pressure on the bullet in the case initially to promote full powder burn?
@rmblwgn2 жыл бұрын
I think the seal of the bullet on barrel gives resistance just enough for the powder to go "nuclear" meaning it burns completely.

I reload and shoot competitively (not with a 50 BMG). You spent a lot to make this video by using new brass and those A-Max bullets. For those that don't know, those projectiles cost $2.85 to $5.00 each depending on where you find them. Worse, the brass was destroyed each time.

Be easier to measure with a camera and a painted background so as not to kill the poor chrono. low hundreds of fps depending on the round... definately a nasty bruise or a slight stab wound if it hit you with the point bit. The brass is the actual dangerous things here, it can easily cost you an eye or cut you pretty bad

That’s why case support is so important in a barrel. Early Glocks had less support that allowed for reliable ammo feeds with all kinds of bullets. It also made it harder on reloaders dealing with the Glock bulge. Seems like from g3 on they were able to keep the reliable feeding but still add case support.
