What HUD do you use for ignition poker? I thought you can't use a HUD on ignition poker?

I use PokerTracker 4. You need to get their hand grabber to get it to work on Ignition: www.pokertracker.com/products/Ignition/hand-grabber.php?a_aid=smartpokerstudy&a_cid=8c30588a That's my affiliate link for the hand grabber. If you use that link, it'll support the channel. Thanks much!

If the calling station fish to our left was also an aggro fish, would it still be profitable to open speculative hands like T9s from MP given that we will frequently miss flops and be out of position against their aggressive bets? I am also curious if you ever increase your open raise size to 3.5bb or 4bb from UTG/MP when a calling station fish is on your left? Great video!
@SmartPokerStudy3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Ferdinand. I think it's profitable to still open hands like T9s even with a 3bettor on your left UNTIL they start pounding on you with aggression. Once they seem to be targeting you with aggression, you need to change your range or your raise size or both or even leave the table (YOU want to be the one pounding on others with 3bets, not the one facing them). And, I will open-raise larger to 3.5 bb in the earlier positions to help avoid too many callers and to avoid 3bets (some players hate 3bet bluffing over large open-raises b/c it can be too costly). A larger raise size also makes it more likely the only caller will be somebody defending their blinds.

You criticized the last villain's checking with a set on the flop, but you also checked on the flop with a set against the first villain.
@SmartPokerStudy2 жыл бұрын
I checked from OOP with the intention of check-raising a very aggressive player. The 2nd player checked behind after flopping a set, minimizing his chance to get value. He also just called the turn instead of raising when the board got wetter.
@evantan62 жыл бұрын
@@SmartPokerStudy I see. That makes sense. But let’s say you didn’t use HUD and have no clue he was a loose maniac. Would it still be worth check raising the flop OOP with a set and running the risk of getting checked behind and having the board get wetter for free?
@SmartPokerStudy2 жыл бұрын
@@evantan6 Without a HUD, I can still know that he's an aggro maniac just like in a live game, if he's betting and raising and showing hands like J9o after 3betting. This would mean that I'd have to pay attention to the action. If I'm not paying attention or he's a complete unknown, I can still make a read on that tiny 3bet. A weak 3bet like that means he's an inexperienced player that doesn't know exactly what he's doing, but he does know that aggression is good. I would still check in order to check-raise, assuming he'd cbet as most 3bettors cbet the flop when in position. The board is dry enough that I'm not worried about him getting a free card. If he checks behind, I would probably bet out on any turn card.

Thanks Sky, very good content as always! Would be great to watch the same type of analysis/gameplay when you do not hit boards on the flop/turn. I am a new player and have trouble cbetting/playing the players/position when I have absolutely nothing (not even draws). Backdoors I do not even consider as a reality :D

In all of the examples above you seem to hit fairly strong hands that make it easier to play the river. If you do not make your hand what is the play? Love your content BTW. Doing the 66 days of hand reading and it is making a big difference in my game,
@SmartPokerStudy3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, David. If I don't have a hand I can bet for value, then I'll check with maybe some kind of weaker showdown value. Or if I think they can find a fold, I would make a bluff bet. Maybe I'll create a future video showing some of those types of hands.
@serialsleuth21783 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I agree with the logic in the last hand on the river. You say you want to get max value, and you've got the second nuts. If you put the range he hits that river with, and assume he's 3-bet calling you with all his 2 pair or better - that's a huge amount of value that was lost on the river, no?
@serialsleuth21783 жыл бұрын
I legit could be wrong - I feel like everytime I do make this/these plays they DO have the nuts lol, but in theory it makes sense to me that he calls with a far bigger percentage of weaker hands, making a shove +EV, even when you do run head first in to A10.
@SmartPokerStudy3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think I may have missed out on value. But like I said, I don't get into raising wars on rivers without the nuts unless I have a great read he can do it with worse. So, I think I could've made another raise for value, and he would've called with his set. And the pot would've been so big if he 4bet shoved, I would've called. So, yes, missed out on value I believe (after seeing what he held at the end). Could he have folded 2 pair after raising the river? Don't know.

Hi. I'm working through your 66 days of hand-reading, and thank you so much for that. Here's what's suspicious about them though (after 8 days): you never review a hand where (like I saw today) UTG turns over 32o to win the pot with 2 pair. Are you sure you don't screen the hands before you review them?
@SmartPokerStudy3 жыл бұрын
Nope, I didn't screen them ahead of time. There are plenty of hands in the 66 days where they end up with something I didn't include in their preflop range, and I don't remember if there were any crazy hands like you mentioned.

Exploiting opponents to the maximum means that vs. a maniac you have an easy shove with T9 I mean a maniac will call the shove with two pair even.. Just calling Is a big mistake
@SmartPokerStudy3 жыл бұрын
Good point, Paul. I probably did miss out on river value by calling the raise.
