She just completed her 44 night cruise Vancouver - Barcelona. I wonder what it's like being on a ship for that long. There were no overnight stays in any port however.

amazing videoss! so how many deck in total on the ship?

There are 14 decks. But if I remember correctly they skip a floor so really 13 floors.

Lindsay, did you observe whether or not any particular position with in the ship for a cabin would be better for a family traveling with a child under 10? For example, on some ships if one is in the aft they have easy access to the buffet, or on edge class and retreat a forward cabin near the elevator and stairs give someone access to all the retreat features and the kids club.

Any notable restrictions for children in areas like the pool(s)? Thanks in advance.

The only area that was adults only was a pool on the back. The ship is so small that it doesn’t matter really where you book it is fast and easy to get around. The kids club is more of just a room with games and TVs. Will be the same on Explora II as well. However, they said with Explora III they are designing a more family friendly ship.

Does anyone actually buy anything on the floating malls?

On this cruise, we actually saw several people buying stuff. And we even purchased a craft cologne from the perfume shop. These shops were really different than your typical cruise store and focused on smaller brands.

What’s the dress code?

Smart Casual is the best way we can describe it. There were no formal nights like you see on bigger cruise lines.

Kids of all ages are allowed. But it definitely has more of an adult feel.
