Fantastic presentation by a champion speaker. Thank you so much. In the cells Selenium can be stored more safely as selenocystine, a dimer of selenocysteine. Together with the low concentrations in the body it means that it is not poisonous unless taken excessively, unless we use "poisonous" in the same sense as an overdose of caffeine, alcohol or nicotine.

Selenium firms a whole series on salts based on Selenic acid, H2SeO4. Selenic acid is analogous to sulphuric acid but more oxidizing. Selenates are analogous to sulfates but somewhat less soluble in water. Selenites based on selenous acid are more stable then sulphites. Selenium is a chalcogen like oxygen and sulfur and forms non stoichiometric compounds with transition metals like oxygen and sulfur. These don't obey the law of definite proportions exactly but still follow it approximately. Note for your channel: Do a playlist on your series about elements on the periodic table.

Selenium could be more present in the sun that we realise. Solar spectroscopy is more sensitive to the more abundant elements, however selenium production is limited to stars more massive than ours through nuclear fusion and supernova explosion 7:28

Selenium, in proper amounts prevents some cancers. An enzyme in the body requires four -Se-H groups.
