As a Singaporean residing in Thailand, it’s so diff here . Free and comfortable. A lot less stress. No influence from the authorities hard crackdown, agenda no negativities. Everyone here respect each other, minding their own business, regardless you an he-she, she-he, religion or colours. Nobody crosses anybody’s boundaries. No unnecessary accuses of racial discrimination etc. demands and those bullshits … in fact, the life here is perfect. I think mainly because it’s a Buddhist country and much more, the environment is slower , even in Bangkok , it’s just the traffic , work life balance is good , at work, almost no toxic culture and people. The government don’t try to mettle much in people life . At least no propaganda or trying to control the minds . It’s just so different here . Every community is peaceful , minding there own life, mingling with each others but respectful . And I meant respectful . The young has so much room to be themselves and do what they like. The culture and heritage is strong here compared to Singapore . They are proud of who they are, their language and carry on continue their culture but still trying to be vibrant which is nothing Singapore has or doing. Just beyond words . You just have to be experience yourselves.

Spot on, Singapore is a soulless place devoured by consumerism and materialism. Almost everything is measured by GDP or by monetary fashion, so devoid of soul and meaning unless you own a prime district property or a "conti car" that is minimally a quarter million upwards. As much as SGeans like to be known to be as a"well travelled" bunch, most Singaporeans only know Bangkok by Siam, Pratunam or as far as Thonglor.... I'm very glad you covered Charoen Krung which is my favourite part of Bangkok.

Bangkokien since birth here. If you look reeaally deep down, it's not that beautiful. Which I can't said much because it's the same in every country. There's good, but there's bad too. But yes, most of the time, its chill as heck like what you said.

@@harrykekgmail Why so insecure? Facts are being spilled... Singapore is indeed nowhere near Thailand in terms of the above two.

Having lived in Bangkok my entire life, my perspective on travel times is quite skewed. When someone from another province mentions they can cover 30 km in less than an hour, I find it bizarre. Here I am, on a bad day, it can be 2 hours to drive just 5 km. And when imagine 5 km, it's feels like a really long distance. Which is not. lol
