I enjoy your channel! It's been 2 years since the excitement was around having found (and validated) 5,000 exoplanets. I feel we should have heard "6,000 exoplanets" by now. Is it just my eagerness, or has the rate of exoplanet discoveries and validations gone down? If so, why? (I can think of lots of reasonable reasons.)

Yes, the last couple of years have slowed down - I'm expecting a few large papers of TESS discoveries to drop this year to push us over 6000 and get us back on track!!
