Welcome to General Luna, the main town on the island of Siargao in the Philippines!
General Luna is described as the Canggu of the Philippines, being very much a surf focused town, being home to one of the stops on the international surfing comp circuit, Cloud 9! But it is a beautiful little part of the world, as you'd expect from the Philippines.

Getting to Siargao is pretty easy these days, I got a flight from Cebu to the islands fairly new airport, only took 35-40 minutes. And I hear they are already talking about opening a second airport on the island for international flights, as its bloody choked up already, they really underestimated the required size of the terminal haha. And then General Luna was a 40 minute drive from the airport, I got a group shuttle bus, which was really cheap and took about 8 of us to our respective accomodation locations around General Luna, and same going back to the Airport, simply organise with your accom the day before, or grab the number of your shuttle bus driver to line him up directly.
There are a number of ATM's around the town, but not all will work at any given time. I also went in December, their wettest month, but it was wetter than normal, just my luck haha, so there was lots of rain and onshore winds almost the whole time. Ideal time to go is June to October, if your chasing the infamous barrels of Cloud 9! And there were LOTS of power outages, there were about 5 during my 11 day stay, with one lasting a full 24 hours, so I know this seems weird but ensure your accom has windows that open to allow cooler night air in while you sleep, mine didnt so it was fucked trying to sleep in a hot stuffy room.
