Sailed on Oosterdam around Italy/Greece 2 years ago. Beautiful ship and wonderful food but found the resolutions of on-board problems well short of world-class. If booking this ship, make sure you take paper copies of everything you're expecting or have booked with Holland-America.

@@CruiseWithAmber It was a wonderful holiday and we’d certainly sail on Oosterdam/HS again. I just felt the customer service desk didn’t seem to have the authority to sort issues out without referring to their US office. We’d had a similar problem on NCL involving airport transfers which was resolved immediately. Great KZbin channel! Keep enjoying those cruises!! Love the website

The casino appears to be open to other areas. Is smoking allowed?

No, there was no smoking in the casino - the only smoking area was at the aft next to the sea view bar. Hope that helps.

@ it helps immensely! I’m so allergic to smoke and we just booked November 2025 Ft Lauderdale to San Antonio Chile. Do you know what will be done during the scheduled dry dock? Thanks!

Sailed on this ship in 2019, thought it was ok, but not great. Smallish public areas, numerous service problems. Then two month later was on Viking Jupiter. What a revelation! Less than half the size of Oosterdam, light-filled, spacious, quiet, and impeccable services. Will never go back to Hollander America.
