Yes Brian you must visit Samal Island when you come to Davao. It is so very beautiful. Davao does not have white sandy beaches so you must come across to Samal Island to enjoy this beautify location po.

Samal Island is on my list of places to see. A friend recommended Paradise Resort as it has a nice beach and good snorkeling. But I'll add the two resorts you recommended to my list. Have you checked out the Monfort Bat cave? I have less than 3 weeks until I land in Davao. I look forward to starting my retirement there. God bless and stay safe.

I did not check out this beach resort, but I looked at it now and it looks very beautiful. I wanted to go to monfort Batcave but I didn’t make it. I am disappointed but I ran out of time. Safe travels my friend and I know you all love Davao. ❤️

We lived in Davao and have been to the island four times via Babak port. Samal is overrated, the beaches are mostly volcanic rocks that are hard on your feet. The water is way too shallow and there are many poisonous sea snakes close to the share. Best place to visit on Samal is Hagimit Falls. No reason for you not to be a good swimmer, let someone teach you. Our 9 year old is a great swimmer now. I know you can do it ! Love your videos and personality.

Do you have to pay for visiting beaches in the Philippines or s it only on Resort beaches??

Hello Kai, Any public beach is free, but you will find a lot of the beautiful white sand beaches are privately owned with resorts. If that is the case you have to pay an entrance fee. Even on the public beaches if you want to be in shade or have chairs we will have to pay. But it is very very cheap.

Ha ha Jen you love the beach but you can't swim well! Looking at the traffic on Samal Island I could probably handle riding on a scooter but I don't have a licence ha ha ha!

Well Geoffrey You’ll be so surprised that the police here do not mess with foreigners. As long as you get an automatic scooter that you do not have to use the clutch is very very easy. And you will not have any problem sir.

@@YourlittlePinay We have an automatic Honda Click 125i already Jen. The problem would be my wife letting me ride it out on the road ha ha ha! She is very protective of me and it's true i have no experience with motorcycles. You are right that a scooter is not hard to learn, unlike a larger, more powerful motorcycle. At present i rely on my wife's male cousin who is also my best friend here to drive me around "angkas" when required. He is an ace rider because he is a retired police officer. The traffic in CDO is often very heavy too.

@@gaufrid1956 That is what I always try to rent. The Honda Click. Oh my goodness sir traffic in CDO is so crazy! You will find in Davao everybody obeys traffic laws and it is so much easier. In Samal island is very light traffic and it was so much enjoy riding a scooter there. I understand your wife’s concerns. All Filipina are over protective Po
