My two favorite moments in this video: 1. The room is filling with smoke, the bird is stealing focus, and Marisha’s attempts to work with the fire are also going to be distracting, but Matt is trying so hard to stay focused and just says, “The dunamancer...” in sheer exasperation. 2. The world is literally falling to pieces around him, and Matt realizes his bare feet might cause problems on Twitch and leaves TO PUT ON SLIPPERS.

What was the process, struggles and joys of reconciling the mechanics to that story? 51:26 Matt's Disney Crush 52:32 Dagon agrees 52:44 I'm curious about the change to the Cobalt Soul in the book vs what's been shown on the livestream. Is it a network of libraries or archives? Is there public access to the Cobalt Soul or is it by appointment only since monks have to be there to observe patrons? 56:51 Feeding Dagon 58:11 There's some uncertainty about what the Echo Knight can do; for example, help with sneak attack or flanking, grapple, fly, climb, swim, be affected by certain spells/abilities that specify an object/creature etc. Can you shed some light on the design intent? 59:51 Why the constitution focus for Echo Knights? 1:01:12 Dagon's seed 1:01:18 To what degree did player choices early in the campaign influence the writing of the campaign setting? 1:03:07 Is the Prime Material Plane the only one on our side of the Divine Gate? 1:03:24 The book says the Raven Queen lives in the Shadowfall, but that's on the wrong side of the Divine Gate isn't it? 1:05:15 Dagon No! 1:05:38 How much do the Volstruckers know about the Augen Trust? Does the Augen Trust have agents in the Volstruckers or vice-versa? 1:07:35 Dagon's priorities 1:07:59 Due to their rivalry with the Cerberus Assembly, does the Cobalt Soul have it's own setup for magical research and development? 1:09:18 Dagon comes climbing back 1:11:00 Do the Volstruckers as a unit specialize in the same type of magic or do they each have their own specialties? 1:11:52 Any lore details on these Pallid Elves? 1:13:59 Can you give any details on the relationship between the Pallid Elves and the Lotus Den Halflings? 1:14:43 Come on Dagon 1:15:26 Everything is fine 1:17:18 Another treat for Dagon 1:17:45 Is there a specific colour scheme associated with the Cerberus Assembly that Archmages wear or do they have a uniform? 1:20:56 How much trade exists between Tal'Dorei and Wildemount? Considering the prominence of Stilben being on the coast sharing a trade route with the Clovis Concord islands, why is Stilben so small? 1:25:12 I've always been curious about how you come up with names for places (like Exandria, Tal'Dorei, Wildemount); What is your process for creating new names? Do you go with what sounds nice or do you look at real-world names for inspiration? 1:29:33 So consecution can cause a sort of insanity. Is Essek aware of this, and if he is did it factor into his reasons for giving the beacon to the Cerberus Assembly for research? 1:30:28 HE LIED?!! 1:30:44 If a consecuted creature would be executed by the Dynasty, do they have a way to unconsecute a soul to make sure that soul isn't reborn? 1:33:10 Do consecuted souls show personality traits from their past lives before anamnesis? Does the meditation ritual happen over time? Does it erase the person who was there before to make room for the consecuted soul? 1:37:19 What has been the most exciting thing about bringing your own world to the D&D multiverse? 1:39:28 The bar for entertainment has been set 1:40:30 Dagon says thanks This was really hard to do. So coming from a colder climate, one reason a lot of smoke might have gone into the house is there was no air suction. In the winter when you have a fire burning, the cold air draws the smoke outwards and thus also pulls a draft to continue the fire to burn. In the summer it becomes more difficult to have a fire indoors because that draft doesnt occur since it is much warmer outside. Without this draft, smoke tends to go whereever it wants, aka filling your house. Stay safe everyone!!!

For those who are actually here for the Q&A: 8:35 "What was the balancing act, like wanting to put as much information in as possible, while also not spoiling things for your fans and your players? And also leaving your creative freedom if the campaign moves in unexpected directions." 11:37 "How would you define Eiselcross' Aeor Crash Site? And what is Aeorian technology?" 12:45 Talking about the flexibility of Wildemount as a setting (includes minor chaos) 14:36 Talking about the heroic chronicle (includes chaos) 18:06 Talking about the new classes and subclasses (includes major chaos) - Echo knight 19:08 - Graviturgist 20:12 - Chronurgist 23:08 (not discussed due to ultimate chaos) 26:14 Not actually a question 26:40 Jumanji Costco's undead aura (Jamedi Cosko) 29:26 "What races (besides drow) do you see be a graviturgy wizard, and still staying inside the Dynasty?" 31:35 "Is the echo knight meant to have endless uses of its ability to summon an echo per turn?" 32:40 "Did you feel pressure to get the true identity of The Traveler out in the game before the book was released? Since it says it in the book who he is." 33:20 "When designing world maps, do you base it on real-world continent shapes and work from there? Or do you just pick a random shape and go for it? I'm having a hard time figuring out scale." 36:56 Chris Lockey "It would be very thematic for you to talk about the Ember Thickets of Blightshore." (not much discussed here) 38:00 "What can you tell us about the origins of the River Inferno in Eiselcross? Aaaand if it is connected to the Plane of Fire? Are the Fire Ashari aware or concerned about it?" 40:24 "Is there any material that ended up getting cut for space SLASH ~dabs~ mystery?" 44:06 "What was it like working with outside writers and having them help shape the world that you've been so close to and that you've built?" 45:42 "Dunamancy spells are too fun to hold back. Do you have any suggestive lore on why or how non-wizard classes might gain access to these awesome spells?" 48:10 (Does McCree have freckles?) "The guide has a delightful variant of orcs that feels to mechanically bring them in line with the guide's world building of orcs as no more inherently evil than any other race. What was the process, struggles and joys of reconciling the mechanics to that story?" 52:47 "I'm curious about the change to the Cobalt Soul in the book versus what's been shown on the live stream. Is it a network of libraries or archives? Is there public access to the Cobalt Soul or is it by appointment only since monks have to be there to observe patrons?" 58:06 "There's some uncertainty with what an Echo Knight can do. For example help with sneak attack or flanking, grapple, fly, climb, swim, be affected by certain spells or abilities that specify a creature or object etc. Can you shed some light on the design intent?" 59:54 "Why the constitution focus for the Echo Knight?" 1:01:19 "To what degree did the player choices, early in the campaign, influenced the writing of the campaign setting?" (~echoes~ Uk'otoa) 1:03:06 "Is the prime material plane the only one on our side of the Divine Gate?" & "The book says that the Raven Queen lives in the Shadowfell but that's on the wrong side of the Divine Gate, isn't it? Or-is-th...what is that?" 1:05:35 "How much of the Volstruckers know about the Augen Trust. Does the Augen Trust have agents in the Volstruckers or vice versa?" 1:08:00 "Due to their rivalry with the Cerberus Assembly, does the Cobalt Soul have its own setup for magical research and development?" 1:11:06 "Do the Volstruckers, as a unit, all specialise in the same type of magic? Or do each have their own specialities?" 1:11:50 Talking about the Pallid Elves/Pallid Grove 1:14:11 Talking about the Lotusden Halflings/Lotusden Greenwood (some more minor chaos) 1:17:47 "Is there a specific colour-scheme associated with the Cerberus Assembly that the archmages wear? Or do they have a uniform?" 1:20:55 "How much trade exists between Tal'Dorei and Wildemount? Considering the prominence of the Stilben being on the cost, sharing a trade route with the Clovis Concord islands, why is Stilben so small?" (Bonus: the origin of Stilben) 1:25:15 "I've always been curious about how you come up with names for places like Exandria, Tal'Dorei and Wildemount. What is the process for creating new names? Do you just go with what sounds nice or do you look at real world locations for inspiration?" 1:29:34 "So consecution can cause a sort of insanity. Is (HotBoi) Essek aware of this? And if he did, did it factor into his reasons for giving the beacon to the Cerberus Assembly for research?" (Also minor SPOILER for future CR episodes!) 1:30:45 SneakySneaSnake: "If a consecuted creature would be executed by the Dynasty, do they have a way to unconsecute a soul to make sure that individual isn't reborn?" 1:33:12 "Do consecuted souls show personality traits from their past life before anamnesis? Does the meditation ritual happen over time? Does it erase the person who was there before to make room for the consecuted soul?" 1:37:21 "What has been the most exciting thing about bringing your own world to the D&D multiverse?"

Fun story, I was watching this wearing my headphones and did not notice that my own home smoke alarm was going off. Nothing bad happened, but there was a moment where my nose was kinda itchy and I was wondering if my allergies were acting up or if my brain was playing tricks on me and just thinking that it smelled smoke. Room mate ended up burning a loaf of bread nearly all the way through in the oven, lol.

As fore the absolute chaos this firechat has been, there are still silver linings that are absolute worth mentioning. For being nervous, both Matt and Marisha improvised, took care of and respected each other mighty fine. To balance their improvised set up, provide informational and entertaining content, ensure their house does not burn down and take care of each other and their birb... that are a lot of balls one needs to juggle. And I respect that. There could have been many different outcomes. I wish you guys the best. You are doing great for these times with all the challenges life throws at you. Much love

My favorite thing about this video? How Dagon, the bird, gives little "love kisses" to Matt with her beak, and goes to "Mama Marisha" for extra treats. Those are the little moments I love between pets and their owners -- and the fact that it's an extra layer to prominent members of this D&D community we have, gives it just that little cherry on top. 😄 Note: Just saying, I nominate Dagon for "Meta Parrot" in Matt's campaigns.
