I’ve owned many ford’s and there is no mistaking that power steering pump whining. I currently own a 91 5speed explorer a 93 explorer a 2005 expedition and a 94 f150 with a 300-6 and a 5 speed 👍🏻

I had a 93 sport 5-speed as well. Mine was only 2wd but it was an awesome truck with loads of torque. Wish the motor didn't blow on it I would've kept it longer. But I was 17 and stupid lol

Just got a first gen explorer sport with a five speed. any suggestions besides bigger tires to start? Also i love my great gas mileage for daily driving. how bad did your MPG go down?
@LilBluBroncoII11 жыл бұрын
Exploding hubs is usually from shock load. Can't explain why that would happen in your situation. Only thought is they were either worn out to begin with (especially if they auto hubs), or the gears are mixed front to rear and those are what gave first when everything bound up.
@LilBluBroncoII11 жыл бұрын
Start where your wallet and plans allow, but it all depends on your utlimate goal. Gears will help with mpg. I run 4.10's with the 33's. I also have a set of BFG AT's that I run on the street. I'd say I lost maybe 2 mpg overall.

I had the ARB already from my BII. I used a lock-right in my D28 front and it worked fine until I swapped in a D35. At that time I decided to go with a selectable locker and found it used for a steal.

2" coils front (needs high camber alignment bushings, but such is life), add-a-leave rear, 33x10.5-15 Boggers on 15x7 rims, Trimmed front fenders.

Yes, both front and rear. Don't often notice rear, and never notice front in 2wd.
