I really appreciate the time it takes you to set up all these different camera shots, and the number of times you have to backtrack to collect the camera you have left behind on a stone or fence post just to get a different angle on a 2-second clip. That's total dedication but it makes your films so much more professional and watchable. I hope mine can be half as good as yours. Excellent work guys.

The energy and outward passion you have for making these vlogs is nothing short of amazing. You portray as a wonderful couple, happy with their lot, and wanting to share their experience for no reward other than to inspire. I am thankful for you sharing your personal journeys and allowing us into your lives. We are now planning our own adventures, as we move towards the autumn of our lives. We have the van (converted transit van), the time, and now the plan. We want to see some of the same views you have seen, whilst making our own memories. Thank you Scott and Ellie. Just, thank you.

Forgive me Ellie for my little rant. I do not understand what you mean by the ExplorerBuddy community being ‘not too cross with us because we sold out’. You have an amazing KZbin community because you are AMAZING. You are reaching out and touching other people. You do produce positive and nice content. You have got to make some money to pay the bills. I did comment at the beginning of the year that you should evolve your channel to produce an income to offset your costs by affiliate links, donations, etc. WE appreciate the hard work and time it takes to produce a video. This wonderful ExplorerBuddy community you have created wish to support you so we may continue to enjoy your fantastic videos. Selling merchandise is a good first step. How about some affiliate links to equipment you use in the videos. I hope the link to TomTom in your last video was an affiliate link. Please do not think ill of me, but you are a beautiful couple and the wonderful magical chemistry between you shines out through your videos. It touches all of us and I would like it to continue for evermore. Cheers JOhnR
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
Hey John, thank you, that is really kind of you. The TomTom was a brand ambassador deal, first time we have ever done anything like that and the first time we have ever received a lot of negative comments for a film. KZbin is a funny old place, the only place you feel like you have to apologise for making a living 😞 We really appreciate your support. Like we said in the film we are so lucky to have such supportive subscribers, it means a lot to us 🚐💕
@pyrotechsickle6 жыл бұрын
Just spotted this and totally agree with John. I thought you might get some negative comments on the last video but at the end of the day this is your channel. People think they have a God given right to free content and yet they don't see what goes on behind the scenes with all of the effort and time it takes to produce this kind of content. The fact that you are both doing this as students amazes me and is inspiration to many of us and it's a no brainer if something that you want is offered to you that you were going to pay for, you would be made to turn it down just to spite your face and I would love to see what these people would do in this situation. I bet they don't even watch through KZbin trailers so that content creators can get some (tiny) kickback off of YT

Hi Explorers.. what a treat to catch up with your hero... and how lovely are you two? We were at Snowdonia National Park last week. It's epic isn't it? We could not believe some of the remote landscapes we discovered it was fantastic. I've got limited mobility so using our car to discover hidden areas was beautiful. You're so right about all the lakes and waterfalls..🏞💖🐶🐾
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
Snowdonia is epic by road, we used to drive around everywhere before we started hiking, we would go off onto the forestry commission roads and could drive high up into the mountains! We don’t do that with Florence after breaking down on one and ended up having military on their manoeuvres helping us out 😅

I really loved this post from Wales, as we have just had our first wild camp out since the van conversion was completed. We ended up at the base of Hay Bluff, a beautiful spot where I have spent many hours paragliding in the past. Waking up in the morning and throwing the doors open to scenes of gorse, sheep and Hay on Wye in the distance was a treat. Thank you again Explorers :)

I absolutely LOVE your videos, and that you take the time and care to make them personal and so lovingly crafted. I just read an article in the Guardian about the stress level of You Tubers who cannot handle the constant pressure of creating content 2-3 times per week, just so they hit certain algorithms to increase their viewership. Your approach is both dignified and shows integrity. There is no "selling out" with you two; seeing how you enjoy/use a product is helpful. Keep on doing what you are doing!

If you are open to suggestions, I would recommend South West Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway. Just the other side of the Solway Firth from The Lake District, so not much farther to drive. Turn left at Gretna Green onto the A75 and then the A710 coastal route and keep heading west. Beautiful coastline and picturesque towns, then inland, forestry, and hills and uncrowded roads. This part of Scotland is often bypassed by those heading to the highlands which is a shame. A nice mild climate as well. Also, you can get the ferry to Northern Ireland from here.

Another brilliant video as always! How are you guys finding the Kayak? We bought an Itiwit 3 man back in the spring and it's been one of the best purchases we've made. It's just so utterly relaxing and being able to see the world from another different vantage point really is "what it's all about". It looks like you have quite a big fin on yours, we have three smaller ones but I think yours might be a bit more stable (in terms of steering) when the conditions get a bit more choppy!

@ExplorerBuddies5 жыл бұрын
Hi Martin, absolutely hit lots of 4G dead spots in remote places. We have fitted a 4G booster which helps but still plenty of time without signal, as it needs a small signal to be able to boost it. Since this film was made we have fitted power steering, an LPG tank, a propex heater and a gasit LPG tank. Extra leisure batteries. Can’t remember if we had our solar panel in this film? Think that’s about it 😊
