Heroes In The Sky used to be playable. It was actually pretty fun. It was like an early version of War Thunder back when it was only planes, but if it was PvE instead of PvP. Though the developers stopped supporting it, left it to rot, people could still play it for a long time but eventually when they lost the website domain (that the servers and launcher were tied to) it broke the game and made it impossible to get past the launcher. So, not exactly a scam, just... a literally dead game. Not abandoned dead, but unplayable dead.
@fischhead2Ай бұрын
It was really fun, since you could alter your game like you wanted it to be. Like better turnrates on Engines but slower or vice versa. Same goes for weaponry. You could drop bombs, air bombs on parachutes, rockets, guns etc. For its time it was a very large Foundation to choose from. I still miss it to this day. Unfortunatly i never found a remake or a private server. The old days... I miss them 😢

Kids these days, I swear... So tired of seeing "abandoned" written in reviews of actual, finished projects. They think this trend of 'forever games' is normal; Where a game is never, ever finished and feature/content complete and if a game stops getting updates every month because it _is_ finished, it's suddenly considered 'abandoned'. "Finished" does not mean "abandoned". An abandoned game is one that is left unfinished, which is not the same as a finished game which doesn't receive updates. Which are also different concepts to abandonware, which is old software that usually for grey legal reasons is considered fiscally or otherwise valueless by it's copyright owner, if it still even has one. fml
@soupcangaming6622 ай бұрын
You're assuming any of these games exist, clearly. :troll:
@sienihemmo17 күн бұрын
Yeah we need to normalise the concept of a "finished" game again. A game that is functional and feature complete, that's just *done*. Battle passes, grindy progression, microtransactions, infinite early access and dlc's have ruined so much of the industry. The video would've been fine if it was titled as bad or unfinished games, not dead.

Yo, on the topic of game 27 "All hit all her", I recognize those assets! This game was made in a very crude development software called "FPS creator" that existed like 14 years ago. I used to tinker around in this, but it's like extremely limited in what you can do with it, because it was aimed at non-developers as a gimmick to play around with rather than an actual development software to make FPS games with.

Arma 2 is pretty complex since its a combat sim (and is really good in its own right if you're into that, their more modern releases like Arma 3 and most recently reforger is really fun too with huge mod scenes) so that makes sense on how its like completely lost on what to do lol, its controls are incredibly convoluted on top of that

Crash Dive 2 is actually a pretty good middle ground between an arcade game and a sim like Silent Hunter. I'd say it is ideal for those who want an experience of WWII naval combat, without needing to actually learn how to use a electromechanical Torpedo Data Computer. It is also pretty easy to mod and set your own paramaters (like if enemy destroyers can fire torpedoes at your submerged boat.) On the comical side, there is a game called "Panzermadels!", that is similar to the attack helicopter dating simulator, just with WWII tanks.

The missions were also really cool too, depending on the faction you would take opposing sides. ie allies would defend poland, france and england, while axis attack those maps. the 'world war' mode was super ahead of its time too! I imagine its under new owners and a shameless cash grab by now, but super cool to see it still even exists!

I just wanted to express some thoughts, Thorium (The Games Dev) has been busy with the Vietnam Project and his other games genuinely are fun to play, and he also has announced that he will make his older games workable once he finishes his main project.

Honestly, I think a WW2 / Dystopian Train Sim game could be really fun. Either set in Europe as Germany, or a made up world But the idea would be your in charge of cargo delivery during a big war. You have to manage your train's engine output, mixed with the cargo weight. But since there is an ongoing war happening, you have to arm your train. Give your train AT and AA guns, and so on. If we went to a made up world, I can see it being fun. Like a giant desert world. Having to deal with giant horrendous monsters and so on. Given a wider variety of weapon types as well. You get more money for more cargo you hold. Allowing you to buy and upgrade your train and company. Even better is if the train is fully detailed and allows you to walk around. I love the idea you set the train on autopilot, and you can go around the train and do various tasks. Have a setting of just 1 guy handling the train with futuristic technology. Gives off a dystopian feel as your all alone on this train ride.

Some context about Heroes in the Sky. Back in 2009, I was rather active on the game. At the time, the game was owned by a company called GamesCampus. GC had previously been working on a tank combat game which had more of an anime vibe to it, mixed with realistic (for the time) tank combat. However, World of Tanks released while Tank Ace was in closed alpha, and effectively ended the game before it even began. The company turned around and created Heroes in the Sky, to get away from that competition. They actually did quite well, until "War Thunder" was released in 2012. HIS lost most all of their playerbase, and was put up for sale by Games Campus.
