Walgreens took a really smart business model and threw it away just to chase after the brass ring of "drive-thru pharmacy" Used to be Walgreens were all attached to large grocery store chains inside shopping plazas. The typical customer would come to the shopping center, park, go into Walgreens, get what they need, and then shop for groceries at the grocery store without out having to go back out into traffic and make a separate stop. When they moved out of the plazas and went for stand alone stores so they could have drive-thrus, that allowed the grocery stores to expand their drug and toiletries departments, drawing away their customers.

@@IIVIIJI in 2007 Walgreens started replacing ALL its people with people in India. So, it is not surprising that the place sits empty. Kind of shocked that it didn't happen long before this. I worked here for 5 years until 2010 and the plan was to cut our floor from about 30 developers to 5 managers that would only coordinate with people from India. We were told they were going to hire 10 people in India for each employee replaced. I left because I didn't like replacing everyone like this. I also had no desire to become a babysitter and no longer a developer. I loved coding then and I still do today.

I understand the sentiment, but I think it’s important to look at the bigger picture. This building and the work behind it didn’t just make “some guy” richer-it represents an investment that provided thousands of employees with jobs, benefits, and retirement opportunities. Walgreens has created livelihoods for many people, and those contributions have a ripple effect on families and communities. With a mindset focused only on the negatives, it’s easy to overlook the positives that enable so many to thrive. Without businesses like this, many of us would indeed be without opportunities for employment and growth.

If the explorers began destroying things they would be just as bad as the low lifes that tag and break windows in buildings and would be banned from any building at all. Security would get tough and arrests could lead to jail time. dont start trouble when you dont have any, that is, be responsible and not stupid.

Well there is NO GOLD in that building. what you were looking at is BRASS, when shined up it looks very rich, but at much less cost. I saw a comment about looking at Proper People vids, and as for photography, I agree, they are very good at it. But be cautious of what you pick up as far a narrations go. They tend to run on with their spiel and actually come up with untru things as they go through the structures. Also, they have a bad habit of opening some doors in some buildings that can be very dangerous and they like to flip/turn switches on and off, even when they know the building is alive with power. Don't get caught doing those dangerous things. KNOW what you are getting into and KNOW what you are touching. If you dont know, a simple vid or pic is good enough. SOme of the areas PP forced access to had high voltage and if they walked into it, one of t hem wouldnt be around any more. Just saying, be careful and know what you are doing. Enjoyed the vid, good luck on your future tours.
