Grew up in Kingston as a white American transplant. My parents moved here when I was only 3 years of age. I don’t wish to ever move back to America. If you like the warm weather and beaches, Red Stripe beer, a little grass, and reggae music, you will fit in here no matter the race. Respect the culture, don’t get involved with drugs and other peoples problems, don’t go out after sundown, and contribute towards making Jamaica a better country and you’ll be fine.

Jamaica The Undiscovered Country! Sometimes I feel like I wasted my youth. Simply because there are lots of things I wish I had done when I had the chance and the freedom to do it. However back then my perspective on life was different. I spent a lot of time living for the next party/session failing to slow down relax and enjoy my beloved beautiful Jamaica. In my youth I traveled around Jamaica a lot but I still did not know Jamaica. Now that I am older I appreciate different things in life like the peace, tranquility and beauty of the Jamaican countryside. To tell the truth the Jamaican countryside is the undiscovered country for me because growing up we spent a lot of time driving around it trying to get to the next popular spot. To the next big event without even thinking of going into it. To explore its many wonders and beauties. For the most part in my youth I took Jamaica for granted. Back then to us, country was someplace out the car window, through that bush and up that mountain. It was off the beaten path and we had no interest in seeing it or getting to know the people living within it. I want to get to know Rural Jamaica. I want to find those far out of the way places over the hills and far away. I want to meet the people living in those places, find out about their lives and history. I want to explore the Genealogy, Geology and Geography of inner Jamaica while taking my time to go nowhere in particular but experiencing everywhere. These days when we go to country, we just turn left or right then follow the road and see where it takes us, what undiscovered country lies ahead. Thank You for this, Dunder Hill is now on my list.

Jamaica is for rich people we poor people a stave. Low paying job and sickness a take over we body if we were using pound wr would better so teacher nursrs and people have to leave Jamaica to work and come back and build thesr mansion to retired in Jamaica me sorry me never left i wanted to stay as a retire retired nuse i don't even have a house only the rich enjoying Jamaica we need to think out of the box. Framers cant even have a house or send their children to university. Poor country for rich retires. Some people living on the street mentally. The frist mentally on the street in any country should he taken off put in a institution and treated. Before the reached end state i sorry. I never left this country

@@cloveranderson2680 That is a whole load a rubbish void of objective thinking. Not saying you are but you sound like one of those mi naw go back deh JahMericans who must justify to yourself daily why you will not return. I wish you had left Jamaica because you add no value to Nation Building. Progressive people create progressive societies. Non-progressive people create non-progressive society. Jamaica has one of the lowest productivity rates in the region, but we also have one of the highest nightly merriment rates. Thousands of you line up for free Krispy Kreme donuts and ram up Chris Brown concert. Most of the complainers come from people who do not have a primary school education, no subjects to their names but want to live large like Bill Gates. I think the poor enjoy Jamaica more, one cannot drive through an intersection without this nightly noise, making merriment. What they have is upside down priorities. Failed people, create failed states and nonprogressive people create nonprogressive Governments. Who is to blame? Let is all LOOK in the mirror. If dancing was nation building, we would be first world. but we continue to drift our way to fail state status. Most of the people living in the new gated communities and expensive home in and around Kingston and St. Andrew are not returning residence but Jamaicans who study hard and work hard to live how they want to live. As a person into farming, I can relate to some of the things you say but most farmers fail because of the low quality of the person doing the farming. They cannot think outside the box, a lot cannot even read and have not changed the process since slavery and as such lack innovation to build their own business. They become stagnant however, most of the successful farmers are educated and run their farms like a business at every step of the process.

A bunch of rich people are i every parish of Jamaica. Not Manchester and st Elizabeth all around Jamaica these richest people investing in Jamaica could help some poor Jamaica families by adopting some of thrse children. There should be a place to bring them. For care children for food clothing and loved care instead of the rich men are sexual abusing the under age old getting them pregnant and left them in more poverty because they cant let their families knows. And killed the young girls some time. Team up richest investors help the poor families in Jamaica give a small house give job bring laughter to their table and this country would be better mp members of parliament know who needs help and help save the mentlllllll

Jah know...mi luv St. Elizabeth. I grew up in Westmoreland, but I could see myself living in St. E. if I ever move back to JA. I spent three weeks in Treasure Beach last year and it was one of the most memorable times of my life... The beaches are beautiful, clean and empty...and Junction has some of the best patties, the banks are orderly and professional, and Junction full ah woman. Big ups to Eggy for keeping us well fed And big ups to you Fire Reid...your videos convinced us to take a chance on Treasure Beach and we were not disappointed at all.

Jamaica is definitely a beautiful place, however the onlyvtjinv that spoils it, is the gun violence & rubbish being thrown on the streets & country roads, it's great to see a mostly clean and tidy district of St Elizabeth l, which I may add is where my family are from, but this level of cleanliness should be the rule and not the exception. Keep up the good work, I love watching your uploads as it mainly shows where my people hail from. 🙏

I was born in Jamaica, and emigrated 36 years ago. I'm aged 70 years, and wish to return to my birth land for the rest of my life. But the Jamaica of my youth is no more. It has become a crime capital of the world. I don't want to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire; so I follow the trend of what the Jamaican vloggers are saying. It would be extremely difficult to pull up one's life, go to Jamaica and have to do a U-turn. At this point I'll visit for the holidays; that's it, then I might be able to make a quick exit if necessary.
