What an incredible place. Thank you Kira, for bringing us along for the adventure.. my degrees were all in computers, and your explanation was straightforward, and not in "layman's terms" so it was completely understandable.

So glad you’re having such an amazing time on the island. It has been a good thing for you as you seem to have renewed life, you are being rejuvenated. Loved the stones as I enjoy tumbling the ones I find here in Atlantic Canada. Thanks for sharing your travels and life experiences with us. Be safe. Take care.

Excellent explanation, but I have a question. Does Magna form the same type of rock upon cooling, wherever in the world the vent may be, or are there different types of rock? My (mis)understanding is that Magna comes from the earth's core and should therefore be the same, that's assuming that the earth's molten core is homogeneous!
@KiraandtheSurvivalPod Жыл бұрын
As far as I understand the magma that reaches the earth's surface can have different mineral compositions and the crystallization of minerals depends on the rates of cooling as it reaches the surface. The details are too advanced for me since I'm not specialized in igneous geology.

So, do you actually live in your van 365 days a year or only when you go camping? I remember your previous videos you were talking about moving out of your apartment, so I wondered if you actually did it…
@KiraandtheSurvivalPod Жыл бұрын
I did in fact move out of that apartment! That's when my dad got sick and I spent months living in my van during his recovery. Then I left for Haida Gwaii in my van.
