If you actually are able to pump the water out of the mine, you need to wait before going into the mine below the previous water level. That water has been pushing against the walls for 80 years, according to the video, after you remove that force, the mine could settle, or collapse. So once you pump the water out, you should keep the water out of the mine by continuing to pump when necessary, but not go in there for a while, perhaps a few months?

I can help you get the water out. I have experience with pumps and plumbing from Alaska where I worked for the seafood processing plants. if your location is remote it would be advisable to use solar power to run the pumps. what kind of pump is needed will depend on how much water per hour must be pumped.
@TBI-Firefighter-4515 жыл бұрын
it will take a huge an expensive solar array to pump out a mine of this size especially with percolation like most wet Mines have and you'd need an excessive battery bank to run solar pumps at night, most Mines produce runoff aka Percolation 24/7 and some Mines went broke just pumping the water out. Flooding is one of the main reasons allot of Mines go bust.

you could always use the water to your benefit.you could pump it into huge tanks IE holes dug into the ground.with cheap plastic liners.dont they use water in gold mining?there's a lot of uses for water out there.

A well driller told me you need 1 hp per 100 foot. All I can say is use a trash pump to see what you got. Once you drained it. Re-evaluate your pump needs. I mean, it been 80 years to fill up to where it is. It may refill completely in 1 day, or it may take several years and a lot of rain. If you want help mucking it out let me know. I just want some paydirt along the way, and a place to put my camper while I help.

Deep water well pump for that depth looking at a three phase 5 hp or higher And depending on how fast you want to de water the mine and in flow from source of water More than one pump is needed Ps I would use HDPE type black tubing and not pvc Just my humble opinion. Good luck

With a smaller sump pump you could have this drained daily before use. At the small claims we have in Nevada we pump the water out every morning and it takes a couple hours.

Nice mine, I love the flip flops. can you pump out the water? or is that creating a structure issue? if you don't find much material at least you can say you have a "Man cave" keep the clips coming.

IT'S ROCKYS HIKING FLIP FLOPS SO THEY ARE SAFE. I BELIEVE I WILL BE ABLE TO PUMP THE WATER OUT WITH A DEEP WELL PUMP. AS FAR AS STRUCTURE ISSUES, THAT IS A VERY GOOD QUESTION. It is not wise to Claim old Mine Sites as you are now responsible for all Reclamation Costs, especially should BLM or Forest Service decide that your Mine poses a Hazard or just because they want you gone. Before Pumping out the Water you will need several permits or face large fines and in some States even jail time, at minimum you need to contact your State's Department of Environmental Quality and get a Wastewater Discharge Permit, operating without one here in my state will get you a $50,000 Fine for the first offense. Take it from a retired Lode Miner that Underground Mining is a Thousand times more expensive than that of Placer Mining so do not Bank on an unproven Lode Venture and be sure to operate with a Valid Plan of Operation and Post a Reclamation Bond or be prepared to lose your ass and end up on food stamps or worse in Jail. There are alot of Uranium Mines in that District so I'd suggest you get a Geiger Counter ASAP and my best advice is to Never Work Alone! Not trying to scare you but Miner to Miner you deserve the Sound Advice. Good Luck Kid!

There's a reason no new Lode gold mines in America almost all are existing operations all new are in 3rd world country's. I always wondered how an Un-patented lode mine can even operate don't you have to have all kinds of ventilation. I think the way to do it would be a Placer mine on Patented claim. I guess anyway you slice it legally is't really expensive probably no way for a few guys to mine like back even in the 60's.

My friend Sam Eakin from Kingman, AZ is a miner for uranium. The way to find it is to fly an airplane w/a camera on each wingtip & take pics. Then view the pics set on a table thru glasses on stands & cross your eyes. This makes the pics 3D. Then u look for the collapsed old bubbles & around the edges is the uranium.

Sorry, I gave u a thumbs down , as you are giving a bad name to miners .. and anyone who explore these old mines.. they are closing them off mainly because of folks doing what you just did.. Going into mines unproperly prepared. Which is how folks get injured or killed. Amd need to be rescued! No hardhat ( which u even acknowledged) and the other wore just flip flops.. ?? Scorpions, snakes etc .. Being properly prepared and dressed is key to safety!!! And t those are. Not the habits you should be showing and teaching folks!! Other than all the safety issues, i think its cool you got a lode mines, Will be cooler if we don't have to read about someone's death in it!! Be smart , be safe !! Have fun and enjoy!!
