I’m glad you managed to film Dalton Mill before it burnt down. What a great loss it is.

Watched it burn. Was the most daunting mill in Keighley, the front only a sample of what lay behind. place looked evil which gave it character. now its just a shell. Shame it wasn't utilized sooner. then it may never have burned. too many properties with potential like this go to waste. Look down the road at Salts Mill. Dalton could have done something similar if not better being central and close to travel hubs.

Without people farming or digging the thing, Nor people who work the thing, Nobody is needed to manage the thing. Beautiful building, that workshop is something else. Incredible exploration, thanks for sharing!

I worked at the Baird's Malt Grantham Factory. I was one of the lads who'd fill the bags with malt, then pack into shipping containers to be sent off to wherever.

In more recent times, it has been better known as a set for period films and TV shows such as Peaky Blinders. It has also been used for The Great Train Robbery, Downton Abbey, and the 2016 film The Limehouse Golem.

I have seen a few explorers do the Dalton mill and it never gets boring, very sad to hear of another fire, its so important to preserve our historical buildings, and it baffles me that we don't, we just wait till they are in such a state of disrepair, that they have to be knocked down.. :( Great vid guys ..as usual, thx :)

The oven with burners on top is a toaster oven not microwave. Great explore, I love seeing these old factories!

Thanks for the video lads, and not sure why, but with both of these, I almost felt that I was walking through the buildings beside you. It was probably the mix of the quality videoing and the intense scenes along with the detailed narration (which was as always, great despite you not feeling well Alistair. Get well soon). The Dalton mill sure was built with beauty in mind and it would be a shame to see it pulled down. Thanks.

7:22 You said it and what more can you say but WOW indeed? I don't think that I've seen anywhere else in your output that even comes close to this footage. What an absolute time piece, it's almost possible to smell the place too. What a treasure trove! The sort of discovery you dream of finding at the end of a long ol' explore. Lucky buggers.

Just watched The Limehouse Golem after seeing this video and the Dalton Mills made for a very atmospheric setting in the film, with the golden pillars featuring prominently in the theatre scenes. I took a wander around the edges of the ruins of the mill late last year and sadly all that remains of the front building are the stone walls and the cast iron pillars strewn around. Well done for capturing it before it was lost.

it's a travesty what they did to this mill, i doubt it will ever be restored to what it once was , Keighley has many hidden gems, sadly this is another one lost

I don't think they're blades, I reckon they're 'screws' (i.e. Archimedes Screw) used for getting mulch to a higher level in a shorter distance.

They invested so much money on archetecture and it's beautiful! Then they forced people to work a mattress in a cold floor , poorage or gurl for meals!! If governments were smart they would give people a wage to live buy rather that homelessness or State welfare! Great explore guys!
