Thank you it is the hospital of my childhood . We didnt live far from it. There was a great dr who worked in A&E probably from the 50's to the 70's. Dr Carroll was his name. Sad to see the old building fall into disrepair. It should be converted into homes for the homeless. Dublin corporation/council should take it over.

I honestly can't see anything wrong with that building! It certainly doesn't look derelict, just neglected. We'll more than likely loose that building to some developer.

I found this unpleasant to watch, but that doesn't mean I think it's a bad video. A close relative of mine spent time in such a place on and off for most of her life. I found visiting her; especially in the older asylum style hospitals such as this one really uncomfortable.

As a child we used to go and visit my Grandmother in Aberdeen, she lived in a tenement flat on George Street, it was like a summer holiday really as we lived near Glasgow so Aberdeen was an exciting sea side town to me. I used to go swimming at the pool in the early 1970s, my dad took me there, it was an amazing place, I have really happy memories of it, so sad to see it derelict and abandoned. Actually on that same street as the swimming baths and almost next door was an art deco cinema, don't know if that is still there, been a long time since I've been back to Aberdeen as I've spent my adult life living and working in London, maybe 35 years at least.

T'was a great hospital in its day. I remember me father taking me as a child. Shame to see it this way now and in such deterioration and waste. But also fantastic to see it at all. Well done lads.

I worked 30 m from this building in the mid-90s, in what was originally the 18th century Pigeon House Hotel, but at that stage an enterprise centre for fledgling companies. I've only ever seen the outside of the former power station, so it was interesting to see inside and the control consoles frozen in time is poignant. (nice lighting). We were there when Boyzone were making one of their pop videos in the 90s (they were in a double decker bus on site, while young girls were shouting in at them from behind the barriers). The power station and hotel have featured in several TV dramas. Anyway, thanks for exploring it.

It is terrible to see such waste, when people are homeless, because of a shortage of homes for people. Why not renovate this building into flats, instead of leaving it to rot. Disgusting.😪

I noticed that it had radiators all the way through but when you were in the basement you forgot to document the boiler room! Maybe it's just me but I'm always fascinated to see how large the heating source is in houses like this. Quite obvious the rooms were originally heated with fireplaces but there were so many low profile radiators around the rooms there must've been a good sized boiler in the basement. I hope somebody can do something with this maybe just retain the centre hall with that high ceiling and the rest of it can come down!

Went here as a kid all the time, the cinema (pictures) next door. Also worked here early 2000’s to about a year before it closed. They closed half the place for refurb, spent thousands only for it to close and never open again. Typical cooncil

Our local hospital from the 1930s was completely bulldozed and replaced with a generic modern tower . The old hospital was indeed rundown , but it was picturesque , and was featured in certain television drama series . What is particularly sickening is that the surrounding gardens , which hosted annual garden fairs , were also destroyed and replaced by the odd piece of native vegetation - how BORING !

Great explore as always! Love these old Victorian hospitals. Modern hospitals just aren’t the same. It’s a shame we let these old buildings fall into disrepair. Especially hospitals, when there are bed shortages in modern hospitals today.
