You probably did not grow up in an era where you came home from school and the flintstones were on everyday, on one of the six channels you had. They are embedded in a lot of people's childhood. (Man, I'm old)!

I stopped by this specific abandoned park myself a few days ago. A lot of the tools and etc. in the train house remain (and all of the permanently mounted pictures are still on the wall), some of the buildings in the main area remain, and the Main Hall & Post building is still there (although the sign is completely gone). I managed to find the "O" from "Post" from the sign inside the building along with a town piece of a pamphlet for the park. Exploring it was great, even though there wasn't a lot left!

You don't understand as your probably to young, its a theme park because its themed after the flintstones. I went there as a kid then as an adult with a group of friends and we still had a blast. So miss it.
@robojunker4 жыл бұрын
It's a road side attraction. Went to one like this or maybe this exact one as a kid and loved it, but I also watched the cartoon a lot. Not a lot of rides, but it was a fun place to visit.

I was born & grew up in Rapid City (have lived in Arkansas for 30+ years now) - & used to go to this park probably yearly when I was a kid. After we moved, we would still make a point to visit our "Flintstone Family" whenever we made a trip back - introducing the next generation to the same experience we always loved! We were in the Black Hills in the last 2 week, & were very saddened to learn it had not only closed but had also been completely REMOVED 😮😟 ! Altho I was so glad I happened to run across your video tour (!) - I hated to hear how you described (& kinda ridiculed 😕) this quirkily ICONIC landmark attraction ... it may not look like much in terms of most 'Theme parks' today - but, for all of us who still treasure the 'simpler times', it was truly magic - a place to use your imagination to the fullest ... something that, sadly, is rarely explored anymore in our world of electronics & 'excess everything' 😶 I actually don't remember hearing it referenced as an 'amusement park' - it was simply considered (at least by anyone I knew who'd ever visited) a well-known Black Hills 'tourist attraction' ... &, YES - it is most definitely pronounced DEE-NO ! Thanks for the much needed trip down memory lane (!) - but, maybe try to keep the 'narration' to a minimum if you're not a 'fan' 🥴 !
