Ballingry Rovers. That's in Fife , too. Just a few miles away from Rosyth. A really lovely little stadium that had a fair amount of money lavished on it a few years ago, when Ballingry had a very generous investor. He then went bankrupt and the club became unsustainable and folded.

If you can you should go to Scourie FC. The most isolated football club in the UK along with Fort William and probably the most scenic setting. But you should visit all the North Caledonian League grounds mate. The most beautiful football grounds and settings in the country. You could also probably cover most of the grounds in 1 day which isn't bad for a whole league.

I'll probably have to do those really northern grounds in Spring now, but will add to the list so I dont forget! Cheers for the tips!

Not the only Fife club displaced to make way for a super market in Cowdenbeath there was Hearts of Beath who played on North End Park. It had been the original ground of Cowdenbeath FC. In 2013 the council gave permission to Tesco to build a store there. Ultimately Tesco pulled out but by then it was too late. However, as part of the planning permission the owners of the ground had to build a new facility in Lumphinans . The council ensured that part of the deal was upheld and the facility was built. Eventually the land was acquired by Lidl and B&M and that's what stands on the ground now.

Petershill juniors FC in the north of Glasgow have an abandoned ground literally joined to new one.petershill hold the record attendance for a junior cup final at Hampden 77,000 in 1957
@bazzad61084 жыл бұрын
I think the old seats you almost literally stumbled across came originally from Dunfermline's East End Park, specifically from the Main Stand. Rosyth is practically a suburb of Dunfermline. The old Recreation Park used to generate a decent atmosphere when there were a few hundred punters inside it. The new venue is a travesty.

Great video as usual Sam... Not sure how far you're going to go with the visits but Largs Thistle who play in the West of Scotland Premier League might be worth a visit. Despite being a London boy born and bred my Uncle played for them in the 80s and my Granny & Papa lived in Largs for 30 years up until they both passed so the place holds special memories. Largs is famous for the couple who won £161 million on the Euromillions in 2011 and Nardinis ice cream which you've got to try out if you do visit!! Keep up the good work! 👍

Disgusting that this happens to smaller football clubs because some greedy so and so gets involved pretending to be the messiah when deep down their intentions are firmly fixed on making a huge sum based on their initial outlay. Drag the fans along on a fantasy ride of promises and promotions then along comes a developer and the dream or just the simple pleasure of watching your side no matter which league they were in, is gone. A covenant should be in place to protect places like these from day one and keep these charlatans at bay.
