They knew how to build a building, that can stand the test of time back then! Good work mate.

YES YES YES one of my fav places to visit it was called SIBERIA in its time for being remote and had a lot of different nationalities that worked there the dam took 2years with a crew of 200 men- dug by hand look into the history books on this place it will amaze you a lot of old foreign coins to be found and there's more to see around on the old tracks checkout the rocks in the bush there all covered in shell fossils thumbs up

Great footage Jacob. This looks like it may be the location of a movie set used in an Aussie Film from about 1980. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Tim, it sure is an interesting site. Wouldn't be surprised if it was used as a movie set at some point, it would be perfect for that.

Do you know what they mined there ? The infrastructure looks very much like that of an old mine here in SA, located in Talisker Conservation Park, down on the Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide. It was a silver / lead mine, and also I recall might have produced Arsenic as a byproduct.
@OurPastAu
@OurPastAu 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Les, they mined coal exclusively here. It was quite a large town at the time, very different today. Very interesting, I'll have to check out that mine if I'm ever down in Adelaide. Thanks for the comment.

Hi, I was just wondering if you could tell me what would I could do If i found a dog collar with a name, i found it metal detecting in Dunsborough WA, 3 and a half hours from Perth. Would i keep it or return it. But the tag does look fairly old and found the address. Thanks 🙏 from a local metal detectorist on the coasts of Perth

Hi Blake, I’d try my best to return it to the family. You can try contacting the war memorial to help you track down any living relatives. Best of luck!

Very annoying indeed, it's rare not to see it. I only recall visiting one abandoned site without seeing any form of vandalism - it was a 2 hour hike into the bush though! Thanks Hajo :)
