Very beautiful place! Not too many people have wallpaper anymore ; You are right it's old the sink cabinet really shows it's older. My late husband was a master carpenter,specialty spiral staircases this really brings back memories of 70's and 80's.Thanks for the video!👍🙋🕊️

Samantha, I go through the same kind of emotions; what happened? Did they lose a great-paying job or experience a catastrophic illness and were subsequently forced to leave? Or did they just get in over their heads and either lose the place to a foreclosure or a short sale back to the lender? In any of these possible scenarios, it's just so sad to me, and I feel a very strong empathy for whoever called these places "home." To answer your other question, these places are usually bank-owned, in my experience (I used to sell real estate a few reincarnations ago, lol) but not always; these properties are also often tied up for years, sometimes, in probate court if there was a death and the heirs are fighting over it, sad to say. Also, however, many times a bank takes it over but they just cannot find a buyer for such an affluent property, so it just sits there and rots, and that truly is a shame. I've dealt with most of these situations at one time or another when I sold real estate. I wish these banks would just donate these places to very large families who could afford to live there ONLY if they were just paying taxes, insurance, and utilities, but not a big mortgage payment along with all the other expenses. That way, the house is saved, a family of renters could finally become property owners, and the bank could just write the donation off on their taxes. Why no bank or owner, who never intends to occupy the property, would rather see a beautiful a beautiful home like this just sit there and rot, I'll never know.

Gorgeous house. I just started binge watching your videos and this is one of my favorite homes. FYI, the sink knobs in the upstairs main bathroom are jadeite. Mid-century mod jadeite is very valuable now. There are mass-produced jadeite knockoffs now, but the original mid-mod versions are beautiful.

I recently got into watching these videos. It is similar to watching a relator taking you through a house to buy, only you get all the old memory's of the people who used to live there. All British toilets are that low. Tall toilets are an American thing. It's also funny to me when people looking at a lot of these homes comment on how old things are. It's quite normal in England/ Europe for homes to be 100 years old if not century's old!

That wallpaper you're calling "fuzzy" is actually known as flocked wallpaper, and it was mostly popular back in the 1970's but it falls in and out of fashion periodically. Very luxurious, actually.

We call it flock wall paper here in the UK. Thanks for lingering on that gorgeous stairs and banister beautiful piece of wood work. The wood you were not sure of maybe stained walnut. The details on the wall look like plastered coving. At 14.34 that large living room with parkee floor that may be oak but the walls could be rose wood not sure though fantastic video thank you Riddim

The wall paper is called “flocked” wallpaper. It used to be very popular in the70 s. I think the house was likely built in the 60s or early 70s. The craftsmanship shows. No plastic “faux” mouldings and millwork. It appears to be of the same era as a house one of my family members built. ❤️

Short toilets lol they’re “Euro style” and the people that lived there were obviously Italian or European background LOL. They always have their main fancy nice kitchens and then their basement cooking kitchens :). And usually in-law suites for Nona’s LOL. Go back to 80’s styles and they all had short Euro toilets :). Very fancy, high end stuff for its time

UBJ thats a Beauty of a house just needs some updated Reno’s on some parts carpets flooring paint and targeted rooms like the kitchen and replace the toilets stuff in bathrooms. I see by the entry way theres a an enclave for a Statue of the Virgin Mary which is nice looking over the family and i loved the basement it was well lit up with big windows and walkout doors. Dont tell me this house with great detail on the walls and ceiling will be bulldozed. I loved the the big party room downstairs.

Whoever designed the house did a great job with the window placements. Lots of light coming in. Shame its abandoned. Needs some updating. That house needs children and laughter in it. That extremely low commode is not for old people. They can't squat that low! Lol. Good video. You give your viewers time to look and you don't swing the camera so they get dizzy.

Very Nice But very dated in some areas. The exterior picture was that the real house, it looked very modern.. Power still on, always cool Since the power is still on it would be on throughout the entire house the only way it wouldn't be if there's a separate services or multiple sub-panels. I think this place has a basement unit or in-law sweet, judging by the kitchen setup in the one area. When you were in the lower level I noticed out the one windows there was erosion fabric very recently installed, I would think this place is either being demolished or a major renovation. Servants?? Really

You can tell the age of a house by it’s heating system and windows. Even with upgrades, traces are left behind. It would be nice if you knew more in general about architecture and design etc. Otherwise I’m enjoying the homes you find. Thanks.
